Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD) is a rare but distinctive clinicopathologic entity of unknown etiology affecting lymph nodes as well extranodal sites. Although cutaneous involvement in RDD common, purely and not documented. We report 22 patients with superficial subcutaneous RDD. The lesions presented papules nodules, often discoloration (9/22) frequent multifocality (13/22), without predilection for specific site the body. Age distribution was wide ranged from 15 to 68 years, median 43.5 years....

This review provides a comprehensive overview of the broad clinicopathologic spectrum cutaneous Kaposi sarcoma (KS) lesions. Variants discussed include: usual KS lesions associated with disease progression (i.e. patch, plaque and nodular stage); morphologic subtypes alluded to in older literature such as anaplastic telangiectatic KS, well several lymphedematous variants; numerous recently described variants including hyperkeratotic, keloidal, micronodular, pyogenic granuloma-like,...

Primary cutaneous apocrine carcinoma is a rare malignancy. This study of 24 examples suggests that the prognosis not always poor and grading criteria devised for breast may have utility in this group malignancies. Furthermore, steroid receptor expression should be investigated these tumors, particularly if tumor unlikely to controlled by surgery alone.

Nineteen patients (12 females, 7 males; age range, 41 to 92 y) had solitary neoplasm (size 2.2 17.5 cm; median 4 cm), whereas the remaining 5 (4 1 male; 66 72 manifested clinical features Brooke-Spiegler syndrome (BSS), an autosomal dominantly inherited disease characterized by widespread, small, on which background larger lesions appeared....

Abstract: Mutations in β‐catenin are present benign pilomatrixomas. is a downstream effector the WNT‐signalling pathway, acting as signal for differentiation and proliferation. CTNNB1 , gene encoding β‐catenin, wide variety of malignant neoplasms. We examined series pilomatrix carcinomas (15 cases) by using immunohistochemistry DNA sequencing exon 3 from compared these to pilomatrixomas (13 cases). All 11 available examination showed nuclear localization mutations similar those demonstrated...

Cutaneous sebaceous neoplasia is known to exhibit a high degree of DNA mismatch repair (MMR) deficiency leading microsatellite instability and these tumors can be markers the Muir-Torre syndrome internal malignancy. Other tumors, such as colonic carcinoma, show tendencies toward particular histologic features sites involvement correlating with MMR deficiency. There are few comprehensive studies unselected cutaneous neoplasms. To address this gap in knowledge, we examined 94 neoplasms from 92...

Carcinosarcomas (malignant Müllerian mixed tumors [MMMTs]) of the uterine cervix are rare neoplasms. This report describes morphology, immunohistochemical profiles, and human papillomavirus (HPV) status eight cervical MMMTs. Patients' ages ranged from 32 to 93 years (mean, 61 years). Seven cases showed in situ squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The invasive epithelial component (EC) was composed combined adenoid basal carcinoma, basaloid SCC, cystic (ACC) two cases. Adenoid cystic carcinomas (ACCs) and adenoid basal (ABCs) are rare neoplasms of the uterine cervix that currently regarded as distinct clinicopathologic entities. Accurate distinction between ABCs ACCs is clinical importance because differences in their biological behavior. This study compares morphologic, mucin, immunohistochemical profiles 18 cervical ACCs, 8 ABCs, 1 combined ABC-ACC. Serial sections from 27 cases were stained with hematoxylin eosin, periodic acid-Schiff-diastase,...

Comparatively, lesions are relatively common usually associated with a good prognosis. When pure, they typically estrogen (ER) progesterone receptor (PR) positive responsive to tamoxifen. Rosai-Dorfman disease (RDD), previously known as sinus histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy, is a benign, idiopathic histiocytic proliferative disorder. It commonly affects lymph nodes, but any organ of the body may be involved. Histological findings include characteristic large, pale, cells (Rosai-Dorfman cells) exhibiting cytophagocytosis. Immunohistochemically, these histiocytes are positive for S-100 protein and CD68, stain negatively CD1a. On electron microscopy, Birbeck granules...
