In the present investigation, we examined cytotoxic effect of methanolic extract from Origanum vulgare on HCT-116 and MDA-MB-231 cell line in vitro. order to determine effects used an MTT viability assay. The results showed that growth is significantly lower treated cells compared untreated control. inhibition was higher treatment than MDA-MB-231. Based it determined O. a significant source biologically active substances have antiproliferative activity

The objective of this study was to determine the allelopathic potential Robinia pseudoacacia L., Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle and Amorpha fruticosa L. that grow on fly-ash deposits at ?Nikola Tesla ? A? thermoelectric power plant in Obrenovac. chemical characteristics fly ash, such as pH, electrical conductivity (EC), content carbon (C) nitrogen (N), contents available phosphorus (P2O5) potassium (K2O), total Fe, Cu, Mn, Ni Zn well phenolic acids (3,5 dihydroxybenzoic acid (3,5-DHBA)...

The aim of this study was to determine the ability roots and above-ground parts three plant species Asteraceae family (Matricaria inodora L., Achillea millefolium Crepis setosa Haller fill.) for bioaccumulation translocation eight metals (Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Pb, Cr). Those plants were sampled directly along lanes highway at entrance into City Kragujevac, Republic Serbia. investigated are emitted air from road traffic deposited in surrounding soil. Many them toxic living organism, it is,...

Asbestos is widely mined and used around the globe posing a great risk to environment human health. The main objective of this study was determine allelopathic potential Robinia pseudoacacia L. Ailanthus altissima (Mill.) Swingle growing on asbestos deposits at abandoned mine ?Stragari? in central Serbia. pH, content carbon, nitrogen, calcium carbonate, available phosphorous potassium, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pb, Mn, phenolics were analyzed control (zones without vegetation cover) plant rhizospheric...

This study aimed to determine the concentrations of ten metals (Mn, Ni, Ca, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cr, Pb, Cd, Cu) in soil at depths 10 and 20 cm selected plant species (Populus nigra L., Fraxinus ornus Salix alba caprea L.), as well assess ability these plants metal bioaccumulation, translocation phytoremediation on location mine pit flotation tailings (in center Republic Serbia). The Pb Cu investigated a depth were above remediation values stated regulations Serbia. At same time, concentration was...

One of the main environmental factors that influence plant species and community diversity are soil types, exposure elevation. This study aimed to evaluate differences in leaf size shape Quercus cerris L. along gradients Šumadija region Serbia by using geometric morphometrics methods. The results showed significant between Q. individuals inhabiting sites with different exposures elevations. Individuals growing on nutrient deficient soils had smaller size, elongated petiole, wide blade,...

Leaf morphology is at a certain level defined by the ways in which plants adapt to different habitats, especially large trees. In this study, morphological variations leaf size and shape of Hungarian oak (Quercus frainetto Ten.) growing on soil types (lithic leptosol, vertisol, cambisol) were investigated central part Serbia (Sumadija). The information type was obtained using digitalized map Republic Serbia, while traits characterized geometric morphometric methods. Landmark analysis...

The aim of this study was to examine the possibility applying an innovative approach neutralization sewage sludge pollutants, using a modified “sandwich” method with use β-diketonate. Sewage sampled at Cvetojevac wastewater treatment plant in Kragujevac, treated organic β-diketonate different concentrations and used test germination seeds red clover (Trifolium pratense L.). Application β- diketonate has statistically significant effect on seed root growth given species. showed ability...

The aim of this study was to determine the concentration some metals (Mn, Ni, Fe, Cu, Zn, Cr, Ca, Mg, Pb, Cd) in soil and species H. lanatus L. on tailings flotation mine DOO "Rudnik". Concentrations were: Pb - higher than maximum allowed, limit remediation values; Cd, Cu Cr allowed values, Ni Zn values (according regulations Republic Serbia). Results suggest possibility using roots bioaccumulation Mg as well aboveground parts plant accumulation phytoextraction Cd.
