We have performed a theoretical analysis of the photon-echo-based quantum memory realized recently in A. L. Alexander et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 96, 043602 (2006) medium with linear correlation between atomic spatial coordinates and frequency detunings inhomogeneously broadened transition. A more general vision on physical picture temporal light-atoms dynamics has been obtained analytical solutions, taking into account phase relaxation, inhomogeneous broadening, arbitrary parameters probe...

The generation of interband photon pairs with wavelengths near 0.5 and 1.6 μm in a photonic-crystal fiber under low-power cw optical pumping by diode laser central wavelength 0.8 has been experimentally demonstrated. It found that the rate entangled photons is comparable values obtained pulsed femtosecond Ti:sapphire if average pump power an order magnitude higher than power. reached rates are ensured used small effective mode area special dispersion profile. low noise output signal...

The possibility of enhancing the quantum efficiency photon echo broadband memory in rare-earth-ion-doped crystals with a frequency comb structure optical transition inhomogeneous broadening is studied. We have found optimal parameters combs for implementing pre-assigned chosen spectral range transitions rare-earth ions real parameters. obtained results allow conditions to be formulated increasing memory. possibilities experimental implementation such are also discussed.

Spatial effects of interference and interaction light modes in the subwavelength part near-field optical microscopy probe have been theoretically studied. It was found that mode can lead to higher spatial compression (wavelength is equal 500 nm free space) within transverse size 25 inside output aperture 100 diameter. The results predict a principal possibility resolution technique.

Investigation of light in waveguide structures is a topical modern problem that has long-standing historical roots. A parallel-plate basic model these studies and intensively used numerous investigations nano-optics, integrated circuits nanoplasmonics. In this letter we have first found an approximate analytical solution which describes the modes with high accuracy subwavelength waveguides. The provides way obtaining clear understanding properties within broadband spectral range various...

In this work, we present an integrated waveguide-resonator scheme of atomic quantum transistor with a multi-qubit memory. The is realized in atomic-photon molecule formed linear chain three interconnected resonators, each which contains one resonant three-level atom. resonators are connected through the waveguides to memory containing long-lived multi-atomic ensembles capable storage photonic qubits arbitrary temporal mode. We consider protocols for implementation one- and two-qubit...

We experimentally demonstrate a long-distance quantum communication at 143 km between the city of Kazan and urban-type village Apastovo in Republic Tatarstan by using key distribution prototype providing high noise-immunity network lines nodes due to phase coding subcarrier wave. Average secret generation rate was 12 bits per second with losses line 37 decibels for distance during 16.5 hours continuous field test. The commercialization perspectives demonstrated long-range QKD system are discussed.

We develop an analytical approach based on the Rytov-Leontovich boundary conditions to study light field modes in nano planar waveguides. The results thus obtained demonstrate new for optical low loss surface plasmon-polariton waveguides with dielectric-metamaterial interfaces. are confirmed existing numerical calcultions. More general using proposed also considered.
