Abstract An updated inventory of Brazilian seed plants is presented and offers important insights into the country's biodiversity. This work started in 2010, with publication Plants Fungi Catalogue, has been since by more than 430 specialists working online. Brazil home to 32,086 native Angiosperms 23 Gymnosperms, showing an increase 3% its species richness relation 2010. The Amazon Rainforest richest biome for while Atlantic one Angiosperms. There was a considerable increment number...
Deguelia decorticans, a new lianescent species of Leguminosae from the Brazilian Amazon, is here described and illustrated. The has flowers which resemble those duckeana rariflora it might be closely related to them, probably forming complex. However, this can easily distinguished by some morphological reproductive characteristics.
A new combination is proposed for Millettia occidentalis, a rare liana endemic to small locality of the Amazon Basin, in Brazil. Morphology and geographic distribution supports its transfer Deguelia specimen at IAN designated as lectotype. Validation needed use impending floristic treatments, well promote conservation field efforts. It occurs “terra firme” forests (non-flooded), on high lands appears be very range-wide, based documented occurrences. Description, illustration, map, some...
Until the end of past century, Deguelia species had been described or combined under taxa Lonchocarpus and Derris. Although most have recently in some regional studies, four endemic from Guiana Shield (one which also occurs adjacent areas Venezuela Colombia) remain to be Deguelia. Here, we propose new combinations for chrysophyllus, martynii, pictus rufescens, with comments on their taxonomy, distribution, ecology vernacular names. Furthermore, two synonyms five lectotypes are proposed here.
Abstract A new species of Deguelia from north Manaus (Amazonas state), Brazil, is described and illustrated here as tenuiflora. It vegetatively similar to D. amazonica, while its flowers resemble negrensis scandens. This exhibits the following unique characteristics: mostly unifoliolate leaves covered abaxially by a peculiar indumentum, calyx with vexillary lobes triangular-depressed, which allows for recognition distinct species. We provide table characters distinguishing congeners...
