Abstract This study investigates a rice husk waste‐based filter (RHW‐BF) for the treatment of graywater (GW) and primary treated wastewater (PTW). The RHW‐BF comprises three layers: coarse sand, chemically modified (MRH), gravel. Continuous runs (Run I, II, III) assessed chemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids, dissolved turbidity removal. Run (I) GW achieved high removal: 73.7 %, 73.4 74.6 92.6 %. Subsequent showed decreasing efficiencies due to media saturation. Similar trends...
In this study, the incorporation of a flexible baffle structure at base microelectronic channel is examined to determine its impact on thermal and fluid dynamics. The investigation covers two configurations: case 1, where heat source situated top section microchannel, 2, with placed bottom. To cool electronic component, nanofluid consisting water aluminum oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles, in concentrations varying from 0% 6%, injected into exhibiting periodic velocity profile inlet. governing...
In this research, the development of a novel brominated poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (BPPO)-based homogeneous anion exchange membrane (AEM) via solution casting method was reported. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy used to confirm successful BPPO-based AEM. The prepared AEM showed excellent thermal stability. It exhibited an ion capacity 2.66 mg/g, water uptake (WR) 68%, and linear swelling ratio 31%. Methyl orange (MO), anionic dye, as model pollutant evaluate ability...
In this work, a novel enhanced model of the thermophysical characteristics hybrid nanofluid is introduced. An innovative kind fluid called has been engineered to increase heat transfer rate and performance thermal system. A growing trend in scientific industrial applications pushed researchers establish mathematical models for non-Newtonian fluids. parametric study on theheat flow Williamson based AA7075-AA7072/Methanol overincessantly moving thin needle under porosity, Lorentz force,...
A numerical study has been investigated for magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) pumping of viscoelastic nanofluid by means heat transfer in a complex ciliated channel. The Jeffrey model is followed as non-Newtonian fluid (blood) current investigations because its dual characteristics: one viscosity effects and the second elastic nature. motion parallel to direction metachronal waves. waves are mobilized cilia transport. magnetic force reflection with horizontal angle inclined implemented. system...
The olive mill wastewater (OMW) treatment process is modeled and optimized through new design of experiments (DOE). first step the coagulation–flocculation using three coagulants (modeled with mixture design) followed by photo-degradation (modelled full factorial design). Based on this methodology, we successfully established a direct correlation between system’s composition during conditions photo-catalytic degradation step. Three are used in study, Fe3+ solution, lime, cactus juice, two...
Juniper berry is an important medicinal plant used in pharmaceutical and petrochemical industries thanks to its strong antioxidant potential, which attributed the presence of phenolic compounds. In this study, four different solvents, namely, aqueous acetone, ethanol, NaOH, water, were extraction process with a view optimize determine polyphenolic contents juniper using ultraviolet (UV) spectrophotometry. Many experiments performed at solvent concentrations, time, temperature, liquid-solid...
Kinetics of aqueous extraction polyphenols from carob (Ceratonia siliqua L.) have been performed in different conditions (Temperature = 40 and 60C; solid–liquid ratio 1:3 1:19 without with ultrasonic assistance (100W)). The effects various parameters were studied using an experimental design. final yield was modelled as a first order polynomial model: (p < 0.10). An HPLC analysis showed that the major component is galic acid ultrasound has no effect on degradation phenols. Eight models...
In this work, the synthesis of a series functionalized inorganic/organic composite anion exchange membranes (AEMs) was carried out by employing varying amount inorganic filler consist N-(trimethoxysilylpropyl)-N,N,N-trimethylammonium chloride (TMSP-TMA+Cl−) into quaternized poly (2, 6-dimethyl-1, 4-phenylene oxide) (QPPO) matrix for acid recovery via diffusion dialysis (DD) process. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy clearly demonstrated fabrication AEMs and subsequent membrane...
In this study, a 2D numerical analysis was conducted to investigate electro-thermo-capillary convection in enclosure filled with dielectric fluid. The had free top surface and subjected buoyancy electrical forces. study considered strong unipolar injection of electric charge (C = 10), mobility number (M Prandtl (Pr 10). Calculations were performed for various thermal Rayleigh numbers (Ra) ranging from 5000 50,000, Marangoni (Ma) varying −5000 (T) 100 800. coupled equations governing the...
Microwave drying is particularly recommended for thermosensitive products such as food in order to preserve all their properties. During drying, some fruits tend oxidize and brown, losing flavor vitamins A C. To reduce oxidation the quality of dried product, a pretreatment by placing fruit an acid solution (citric or ascorbic) recommended. On other hand, blanching, freezing electric field treatment alters cell structure, allowing moisture escape more easily rehydrate quickly. An experimental...
The present work is a numerical analysis of electro-thermo convection, occurring in square differentially heated cavity filled with dielectric fluid. experiences the combined effects viscous, electrical, and thermal forces. equations modelling physical problem are solved via finite volume approach. study focuses on effect tilt fluid flow structure performance inside enclosure under action an electric field. A parametric was performed, where angle getting varied between 0° 90°, as well...
Abstract Polyester manufacturing industries produce highly polluted effluents, containing organics, nutrients, trace metals, and 1,4-dioxane, requiring a high degree of treatment before being discharged into the water bodies. This study focused on removing complex pollutants from diluted polyester industrial effluent (DPIE) via cost-efficient anaerobic/aerobic combined system, with biogas recovery. The integrated pilot-scale system was composed an up-flow anaerobic multi-staged reactor...
