We report on a study of the transverse momentum dependence nuclear modification factors R(dAu) for charged hadrons produced in deuteron + gold collisions at sqrt[s(NN)]=200 GeV, as function collision centrality and pseudorapidity (eta=0, 1, 2.2, 3.2) hadrons. find significant systematic decrease with increasing rapidity. The midrapidity enhancement forward rapidity suppression are more pronounced central relative to peripheral collisions. These results relevant possible onset gluon...
We present spectra of charged hadrons from $\mathrm{A}\mathrm{u}+\mathrm{A}\mathrm{u}$ and $d+\mathrm{A}\mathrm{u}$ collisions at $\sqrt{{s}_{NN}}=200\text{ }\mathrm{G}\mathrm{e}\mathrm{V}$ measured with the BRAHMS experiment RHIC. The for different collision centralities are compared to $p+\overline{p}$ same energy scaled by number binary collisions. resulting ratios (nuclear modification factors) central $\ensuremath{\eta}=0$ $\ensuremath{\eta}=2.2$ evidence a strong suppression in high...
We present charged-particle multiplicities as a function of pseudorapidity and collision centrality for the ${}^{197}\mathrm{Au}{+}^{197}\mathrm{Au}$ reaction at $\sqrt{{s}_{\mathrm{NN}}}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}200\mathrm{GeV}$. For $5%$ most central events we obtain...
We have measured rapidity densities dN/dy of pi+/- and K+/- over a broad range (-0.1 < y 3.5) for central Au + collisions at square root(sNN) = 200 GeV. These data significant implications the chemistry dynamics dense system that is initially created in collisions. The full phase-space yields are 1660 +/- 15 133 (pi+), 1683 16 135 (pi-), 286 5 23 (K+), 242 4 19 (K-). systematics strange to nonstrange meson ratios found track variation baryochemical potential with energy. The first measurements of ${x}_{F}$-dependent single-spin asymmetries identified charged hadrons, ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$, ${K}^{\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}}$, and protons, from transversely polarized proton-proton collisions at 62.4 GeV RHIC are presented. Large seen in the pion kaon channels. inclusive ${\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+}$ production, ${A}_{N}({\ensuremath{\pi}}^{+})$, increase with ${x}_{F}$ 0 to $\ensuremath{\sim}0.25$...
Transverse momentum spectra and rapidity densities, dN/dy, of protons, antiprotons, net protons (p−p¯) from central (0%–5%) Au+Au collisions at sNN=200 GeV were measured with the BRAHMS experiment within range 0≤y≤3. The proton antiproton dN/dy decrease midrapidity to y=3. net-proton yield is roughly constant for y<1 dN/dy∼7, increases dN/dy∼12 y∼3. data show that this energy exhibit a high degree transparency linear scaling loss observed lower energies broken. per participant nucleon...
We present particle spectra for charged hadrons π±, K±, p, and p¯ from pp collisions at s=200 GeV measured the first time forward rapidities (2.95 3.3). The kinematics of these measurements are skewed in a way that probes small momentum fraction one protons large fractions other. Large proton to pion ratios observed values transverse extend up 4 GeV/c, where have momenta 35 GeV. Next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations describe production pions kaons well rapidities, but fail...
Transverse momentum spectra of protons and anti-protons measured in the rapidity range 0<y<3.1 from 0-10% central Au+Au collisions at sqrt{s_{NN}}=62.4 GeV are presented. The densities, dN/dy, protons, net-protons N()p-N(pbar) have been deduced over a wide enough to observe expected maximum net-baryon density. From mid-rapidity y=1 net-proton yield is roughly constant (dN/dy ~ 10),but rises dN/dy ~25 2.3<y<3.1. mean loss 2.01 +-0.16 units beam rapidity. distributions compared model...
We present ratios of the numbers charged antiparticles to particles (pions, kaons and protons) in Au + collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV as a function rapidity range $y$=0-3. While particle midrapidity are approaching unity, $K^-/K^+$ $\bar{p}/p$ decrease significantly forward rapidities. An interpretation results within statistical model indicates reduction baryon chemical potential from $\mu_B \approx 130$MeV $y$=3 25$MeV $y$=0.
Particle production of identified charged hadrons, $\pi^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, $p$, and $\bar{p}$ in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt(snn) =$ 200 GeV has been studied as a function transverse momentum collision centrality $y=0$ $y\sim1$ by the BRAHMS experiment RHIC. Significant collective flow kinetic freeze-out observed collisions. The magnitude rises with centrality. Proton kaon yields relative to pion increase strongly increases also per participant nucleon show weak dependence on for all particle...
Charged-particle pseudorapidity densities are presented for the d+Au reaction at √sNN=200 GeV with −4.2≤η≤4.2. The results, from BRAHMS experiment BNL Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider, shown minimum-bias events and 0%–30%, 30%–60%, 60%–80% centrality classes. Models incorporating both soft physics hard, perturbative QCD-based scattering agree well experimental results. data do not support predictions based on strong-coupling, semiclassical QCD. Measurements, with the BRAHMS detector, of antiproton-to-proton ratio at midrapidities and forward rapidities, are presented for Au+Au reactions square root [s(NN)] = 130 GeV, three different collision centralities. For collisions in 0%-40% centrality range, we find N(&pmacr;)/N(p) 0.64+/-0.04((stat))+/-0.06((syst)) y approximately 0, 0.66+/-0.03+/-0.06 0.7, 0.41+/-0.04+/-0.06 2. The ratios found to be nearly independent transverse momentum. antiproton proton rapidity densities vary...
We present a measurement of pi-\pi+, K-/K+ and pbar/p from p+p collisions at sqrt(s) = 20 0GeV over the rapidity range 0<y<3.4. For pT < 2.0 GeV/c we see no significant transverse momentum dependence ratios. All three ratios are independent for y ~< 1.5 then steadily decline ~ to 3. The pi-\pi+ ratio is below unity > 2.0. very similar 20% central Au+Au all rapidities. In fragmentation region seem be beam energy when viewed rest frame one protons. We have measured the distributions of protons and deuterons produced in 20% most central $\mathrm{Au}+\mathrm{Au}$ collisions at Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) ($\sqrt{{s}_{{}_{\mathrm{NN}}}}=200$ GeV) over a very wide range transverse longitudinal momentum. Near midrapidity we also distribution antiprotons antideuterons. present our results context coalescence models. In particular, extract ``homogeneity volume'' average phase-space density for antiprotons. rapidity parameter...
The BRAHMS collaboration has measured transverse momentum spectra of pions, kaons, protons, and antiprotons at rapidities 0 3 for Cu+Cu collisions $\sqrt{{s}_{\mathit{\text{NN}}}}=200$ GeV. As the become more central collective radial flow increases while temperature kinetic freeze-out decreases. is lower weaker forward rapidity. Pion kaon yields with momenta between 1.5 $2.5 \mathrm{GeV}/c$ are suppressed relative to scaled $p+p$ collisions. This suppression, which as central, consistent...
