Positronium is abundantly produced within the molecular voids of a patient’s body during positron emission tomography (PET). Its properties dynamically respond to submolecular architecture tissue and partial pressure oxygen. Current PET systems record only two annihilation photons cannot provide information about positronium lifetime. This study presents in vivo images lifetime human, for patient with glioblastoma brain tumor, by using dedicated Jagiellonian system enabling simultaneous...
The invariant-mass spectrum of $e^+ e^-$ pairs produced in $^{12}$C+$^{12}$C collisions at an incident energy 2 GeV per nucleon has been measured for the first time. pair production probabilities span over five orders magnitude from $\pi^0$-Dalitz to $\rho/\omega$ region. Dalitz decays $\pi^0$ and $\eta$ account all yield up 0.15 GeV/c$^2$, but only about 50% above this mass. A comparison with model calculations shows that excess is likely due baryon-resonance vector-meson decays. Transport...
This document describes the technical layout and expected performance of Straw Tube Tracker (STT), main tracking detector $\overline{P}$ ANDA target spectrometer. The STT encloses a Micro-Vertex-Detector (MVD) for inner is followed in beam direction by set GEM stations. tasks are measurement particle momentum from reconstructed trajectory specific energy loss identification. Dedicated simulations with full analysis studies certain proton-antiproton reactions, identified as being benchmark...
In this article it is presented an FPGA based $M$ulti-$V$oltage $T$hreshold (MVT) system which allows of sampling fast signals ($1-2$ ns rising and falling edge) in both voltage time domain. It possible to achieve a precision measurement $20$ ps RMS reconstruct charge signals, using simple approach, with deviation from real value smaller than 10$\%$. Utilization the differential inputs chip as comparators together implementation TDC inside allowed us compact multi-channel characterized by...
A novel approach to tomographic data processing has been developed and evaluated using the Jagiellonian PET (J-PET) scanner as an example. We propose a system in which there is no need for powerful, local facility, capable reconstruct images on fly. Instead we introduce Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) System-on-Chip (SoC) platform connected directly streams coming from scanner, can perform event building, filtering, coincidence search Region-Of-Response (ROR) reconstruction by...

In this contribution we present a new concept of the large acceptance detector systems based on organic scintillators which may allow for simultaneous diagnostic fraction human body. Novelty lies in employing blocks polymer instead crystals as detectors annihilation quanta, and using predominantly timing signals their amplitudes.
Particle identification by time-of-flight requires the simultaneous measurement of passing time and trajectory particles. It may be usefull that each tracking station measures both quantities, providing better timing accuracy redundancy independence from an external initial counter. In here we demonstrate a 5-gap RPC equipped with patterned electrodes coupled to charge-sensitive circuits, yielding 77 ps along position 38 μm.
We briefly present a design of new PET scanner based on strips polymer scintillators arranged in barrel constituting large acceptance detector. The solution proposed is the superior timing properties scintillators. position and time reaction gamma quanta detector material will be determined arrival light signals to edges scintillator strips.
The HADES experiment is a High Acceptance Di-Electron Spectrometer located at GSI in Darmstadt, Germany. We present imaging results of needle-like and planar22Na sources obtained with a prototype high-acceptance small-animal positron emission tomograph based on resistive plate chambers (RPC-PET). Positronium, an unstable atom consisting of electron and a positron, is abundantly produced within the molecular voids patient's body during positron emission tomography (PET) diagnosis. Its properties, such as its average lifetime between formation annihilation into photons, dynamically respond to submolecular architecture tissue partial pressure oxygen molecules. However, diagnostic information that positronium may deliver about early alterations remains unavailable in clinics with...
The HADES collaboration uses the e + − production as a probe of resonance matter produced in collisions at incident energies 1-3.5 GeV/nucleon GSI. Elementary reactions provide useful references for these studies and give information on Dalitz decays (R→Ne ).
