We provide a concise overview on transverse momentum dependent (TMD) parton distribution functions, their application to topical issues in high-energy physics phenomenology, and theoretical connections with QCD resummation, evolution factorization theorems. illustrate the use of TMDs via examples multi-scale problems hadronic collisions. These include q_T spectra Higgs vector bosons for low q_T, azimuthal correlations production multiple jets associated heavy at large jet masses. discuss...
A common library, TMDlib2, for Transverse-Momentum-Dependent distributions (TMDs) and unintegrated parton (uPDFs) is described, which allows easy access of commonly used TMDs uPDFs, providing a three-dimensional (3D) picture the partonic structure hadrons. The tool TMDplotter web-based plotting implemented in together with collinear pdfs as available LHAPDF.
We propose a new analytical expression for the transverse-momentum-dependent (TMD, or unintegrated) gluon density in proton. Essential phenomenological parameters are extracted from LHC data on inclusive hadron production $pp$ collisions at low transverse momenta ${p}_{T}\ensuremath{\le}1\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$. The latter described framework of modified soft quark-gluon string model, where gluonic state and nonzero momentum partons inside proton taken into account. To determine...

Strong interactions preserve an approximate isospin symmetry between up (u) and down (d) quarks, part of the more general flavor symmetry. In case K meson production, if this were exact, it would result in equal numbers charged (K+ K−) neutral (K0 $${\overline{K}}^{0}$$ ) mesons produced collisions isospin-symmetric atomic nuclei. Here, we report results on relative abundance over production argon scandium nuclei at a center-of-mass energy 11.9 GeV per nucleon pair. We find that K+ K−...
We investigate the dependence of deep inelastic proton structure function FL(x,Q2) on different forms transverse momentum dependent (TMD, or unintegrated) gluon distribution. present a comparison theoretical results with latest experimental data taken by H1 and ZEUS Collaborations at HERA. demonstrate that these data, despite having quite large uncertainties, can test kinds TMD in proton. Moreover, phenomenological models low x could be tested future experiments scattering.
Despite rather long-term theoretical and experimental studies, the hypothesis of non-zero intrinsic (or valence-like) heavy quark component proton distribution functions has not yet been confirmed or rejected. The LHC with $pp$-collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 7--14 TeV will obviously supply extra unique information concerning above-mentioned proton. To use potential, first all, one should select parton-level (sub)processes (and final-state signatures) that are most sensitive to contributions. this...

Hadron inclusive spectra in pp collisions are analyzed within the modified quark-gluon string model including both longitudinal and transverse motion of quarks proton wide region initial energies. The self-consistent analysis shows that experimental data on light hadrons like pions kaons at ISR energies can be satisfactorily described momenta not larger than 1-2 GeV/c. We discuss some difficulties to apply this above suggest include distribution gluons unintegrated over internal momentum. It...
We find out the connection between unintegrated gluon distribution at low intrinsic transverse momenta and inclusive spectrum of hadrons produced in $pp$ collision LHC energies midrapidity region hadron momenta. The parameters this are found from best description data. Its application to analysis $ep$ deep inelastic scattering allows us obtain results that describe reasonably well H1 ZEUS data on structure functions $x$. A soft processes small $x$ physics HERA has been found.
Up to now, the existence of intrinsic (or valence-like) heavy quark component proton distribution functions has not yet been confirmed or rejected. The LHC with pp-collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7-13 TeV can supply us extra unique information concerning this hypothesis. On basis our theoretical studies, it is demonstrated that investigations contributions look very promising in processes like $pp \rightarrow Z/W + c(b) X$. The LHC with pp-collisions at √s = 7–14 TeV will obviously supply extra unique information concerning the non-zero intrinsic (or valence-like) heavy quark component of proton distribution functions proton. We study the unintegrated, or transverse momentum dependent (TMD) gluon distribution obtained from best description of LHC data on inclusive spectra hadrons produced in mid-rapidity region and low momenta at starting scale Q0^2 = 1 GeV^2. The influence initial (starting) non-perturbative is studied. application to analysis ep deep inelastic scattering allows us get results which describe...
We consider an observable very sensitive to the non-zero intrinsic charm (IC) contribution proton density. It is ratio between differential cross sections of photon or $Z$-boson and $c$-jet production in $pp$ collision, $\gamma(Z) + c$, $\gamma(Z)$ $b$-jet production. shown that this can be approximately flat increasing at large transverse momenta $p_T$ their pseudo-rapidities $1.5 < \eta 2.4$ if IC taken into account. On contrary, absence decreases as grows. also present ratios integrated...
We investigate the possibility to constrain intrinsic charm probability $$w_{\mathrm{c} {\bar{{\mathrm{c}}}}}= P_{{\mathrm{c}{\bar{\mathrm{c}}}} /\mathrm{p}}$$ using first ATLAS data on associated production of prompt photons and charm-quark jets in pp collisions at $$\sqrt{s} = 8$$ TeV. The upper limit {\bar{{\mathrm{c}}}}}< 1.93$$ % is obtained 68 confidence level. This constraint primarily determined from theoretical scale systematical experimental uncertainties. Suggestions for reducing...

The LHC data on the forward heavy-flavour hadron production can be a new unique source for estimation of intrinsic charm and bottom contributions to proton. For example, we analyze heavy-baryon production, namely Λb-baryon, within soft QCD quark gluon string model present predictions observables which could measured at LHC. We also some D-meson in pp collisions made perturbative including proton that verified
