Measurements of inclusive spectra and mean multiplicities $$\pi ^\pm $$ , K $$^\pm p $${\bar{\text {p}}}$$ produced in inelastic + interactions at incident projectile momenta 20, 31, 40, 80 158 $$\text{ GeV }/c$$ ( $$\sqrt{s} = 6.3, 7.7, 8.8, 12.3 17.3 }$$ respectively) were performed the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron using large acceptance NA61/SHINE hadron spectrometer. Spectra are presented as function rapidity transverse momentum compared to predictions current models. The measurements...
Measurements of hadron production in p + C interactions at 31 GeV/c are performed using the NA61/SHINE spectrometer CERN SPS. The analysis is based on full set data collected 2009 a graphite target with thickness 4 % nuclear interaction length. Inelastic and cross sections as well spectra $$\pi ^{\pm }$$ , $$K^{\pm p, $$K^0_S$$ $$\varLambda $$ measured high precision. These measurements essential for improved calculations initial neutrino fluxes T2K long-baseline oscillation experiment...
It has recently been shown that the electronic states in bulk gapless HgCdTe offer another realization of pseudo-relativistic three-dimensional particles a condensed matter system. These single valley relativistic states, referred to as massless Kane fermions, cannot be described by any other well-known particles. Furthermore, band structure can continuously tailored modifying either cadmium content or temperature. At critical concentration temperature, bandgap, Eg, collapses system...
We present an analysis of proton number fluctuations in $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.4 GeV Au+Au collisions measured with the High-Acceptance DiElectron Spectrometer (HADES) at GSI. With help extensive detector simulations done IQMD transport model events including nuclear clusters, various nuisance effects influencing observed cumulants have been investigated. Acceptance and efficiency corrections applied as a function fine grained rapidity transverse momentum bins, well considering local track...
Abstract We present a new experimental study of the quantum entanglement photon pairs produced in positron-electron annihilation at rest. Each has an energy that is five orders magnitude higher than photons optical experiments. It provides unique opportunity for controlled Compton pre-scattering initial before polarization measurements. The setup includes system polarimeters to measure angular correlations and thus prepared pre-scattered states. For first time, direct comparison been carried...
Flow coefficients $v_{n}$ of the orders $n = 1 - 6$ are measured with High-Acceptance DiElectron Spectrometer (HADES) at GSI for protons, deuterons and tritons as a function centrality, transverse momentum rapidity in Au+Au collisions $\sqrt{s_{NN}} 2.4$ GeV. Combining information from flow all allows to construct first time, collision energies few GeV, multi-differential picture angular emission pattern these particles. It reflects complicated interplay between effect central fireball...
Measurements of multiplicity and transverse momentum fluctuations charged particles were performed in inelastic p+p interactions at 20, 31, 40, 80, 158 $$\text{ GeV }\!/\!c$$ beam momentum. Results for the scaled variance distribution three strongly intensive measures $$\varDelta [P_{T},N]$$ , $$\varSigma $$\varPhi _{p_T}$$ are presented. For first time results on fully corrected experimental biases. The significantly deviate from expectations independent particle production. They also...
We report on the temperature-dependent magnetospectroscopy of two HgTe/CdHgTe quantum wells below and above critical well thickness ${d}_{c}$. Our results, obtained in magnetic fields up to 16 T s temperature range from 2 150 K, clearly indicate a change band-gap energy with temperature. A wider than ${d}_{c}$ evidences temperature-driven transition topological insulator semiconductor phases. At 90 merging inter- intraband transitions weak specifies formation gapless state, revealing...
Post-translational modifications of proteins via palmitoylation, a thioester linkage 16-carbon fatty acid to cysteine residue, reversibly increases their affinity for cholesterol-rich lipid rafts in membranes, changing function. Little is known about how altered palmitoylation affects function at the systemic level and contributes CNS pathology. However, recent studies suggested role downregulation palmitoyl acetyltransferase (DHHC) 21 gene expression development Major Depressive Disorder...
Background: The inheritance of the short SLC6A4 allele, encoding serotonin transporter (SERT) in humans, increases susceptibility to neuropsychiatric and metabolic disorders, with aging female sex further exacerbating these conditions. Both central peripheral mechanisms compromised (5-HT) system play crucial roles this context. Previous studies on SERT-deficient (Sert-/-) mice, which model human SERT deficiency, have demonstrated emotional disturbances, exacerbated by exposure a high-fat...
We present data on charged kaons (K+-) and {\phi} mesons in Au(1.23A GeV)+Au collisions. It is the first simultaneous measurement of K central heavy-ion collisions below a kinetic beam energy 10A GeV. The {\phi}/K- multiplicity ratio found to be surprisingly high with value 0.52 +- 0.16 shows no dependence centrality collision. Consequently, different slopes K+ K- transverse-mass spectra can explained solely by feed- down, which substantially softens mesons. Hence, contrast commonly adapted...
The discovery of Dirac fermions in a number 2D and 3D materials boosted the solid-state research an unprecedented way. Among many hopes using their exceptional physical properties, it has been argued that reduced nonradiative losses would allow graphene to compete with quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) race for terahertz (THz) emitters. Unfortunately, Auger recombination (AR) process is still active massless gapless graphene. However, massive fermions, AR can be entirely suppressed below certain...
Major depression (MD) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) share common brain mechanisms treatment strategies. Nowadays, the dramatically developing COVID-19 situation unavoidably results in stress, psychological trauma, high incidence of MD PTSD. Hence, importance development new treatments for these disorders cannot be overstated. Herbal medicine appears to an effective safe with fewer side effects than classic pharmaca that is affordable low-income countries. Currently, oxidative...
We present first data on sub-threshold production of K0 s mesons and Λ hyperons in Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.4 GeV. observe an universal scaling hadrons containing strangeness, independent their corresponding thresholds. Comparing the yields, scaling, shapes rapidity pt spectra to state-of-the-art transport model (UrQMD, HSD, IQMD) predictions, we find that none latter can simultaneously describe all observables with reasonable \c{hi}2 values.
Measurements of particle emission from a replica the T2K 90 cm-long carbon target were performed in NA61/SHINE experiment at CERN SPS, using data collected during high-statistics run 2009. An efficient use long-target measurements for neutrino flux predictions requires dedicated reconstruction and analysis techniques. Fully-corrected differential yields $$\pi ^\pm $$ -mesons surface incoming 31 GeV/c protons are presented. A possible strategy to implement these results into beam is discussed...
Measurements of the $\pi^{\pm}$, $K^{\pm}$, and proton double differential yields emitted from surface 90-cm-long carbon target (T2K replica) were performed for incoming 31 GeV/c protons with NA61/SHINE spectrometer at CERN SPS using data collected during 2010 run. The $\pi^{\pm}$ measured increased precision compared to previously published results, while $K^{\pm}$ obtained first time. A strategy dealing dependence results on beam profile is proposed. purpose these measurements reduce...
