Two experiments were conducted on short-term recall of printed English words by deaf signers American Sign Language (ASL). Compared with hearing subjects, subjects recalled significantly fewer when ordered was required, but not free required. Deaf tended to use a speech-based code in probed for order, and the greater reliance code, more accurate recall. These results are consistent hypothesis that facilitates retention order information.

Are an inescapable fact aging? Or are there factors serve equip future generations skills erase or lessen these difficulties?

Amongst older adults, recent evidence suggests the most commonly stated reason for non-adoption of digital technologies is a lack interest, rather than affordability or difficulty. This directly impacts upon design community, both in terms we such groups to adopt, and methods use exploiting untapped creativity innovation amongst people who are not particularly interested outcome. paper explores issues technology non-acceptance reports on work designed incorporate values adults within...

To help understand impact on adoption behavior, we conducted focus groups with exploring how, what circumstances, effect articulate technologies. Our findings indicate not especially relevant adults’ practical decision making around (non-)use. The our study used language open...

Web accessibility is an important goal. However, most approaches to its attainment are based on unrealistic economic models in which content developers required spend too much for they receive little. We believe this situation due, part, the overly narrow definitions given both those who stand benefit from enhanced access and what meant by access. In paper, we take a broader view, discussing complementary approach that costs less provides greater advantages larger community of users. While...
