Abstract Background Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a chronic and systemic inflammation, results in destruction of joints cartilages. Effectiveness curcumin has been established wide variety inflammatory disorders, but its utility as therapeutic agent is limited by poor absorption, rapid metabolism fast elimination. To apprehend these limitations, we propose to use highly bioavailable loaded solid lipid nanoparticles ( C‐SLNs ) for the treatment RA . Methods In present study, protective effect...

Abstract Plants by virtue of its composition containing multiple constituents developed during growth under various environmental stresses providing a plethora chemical families with medicinal utility. Researchers are exploring this wealth and trying to decode utility for enhancing health standards human beings. Diabetes is dreadful lifestyle disorder 21st century caused due lack insulin production or physiological unresponsiveness. The chronic impact untreated diabetes significantly affects...

The emergence of novel H1N1 has posed a situation that warrants urgent global attention. Though antiviral drugs are available in mainstream medicine for treating symptoms swine flu, currently there is no preventive available. Even when available, they would be short supply and ineffective pandemic situation, the masses worldwide. Besides development drug resistance, mutant strains virus, more virulent strain, prohibitive costs drugs, time lag between vaccine developments, mass casualties...

The effect of side chain conjugation on 7-dehydroxylation bile acids has been investigated. C24-bile and their glycine taurine conjugates keto were incubated with pure strains Eubacterium sp. VPI 12708. Bile the 5 alpha- or beta-series a free terminal carboxyl group 3 alpha, 7 alpha-dihydroxy system very effectively alpha-dehydroxylated, whereas beta-hydroxy resisted 7-dehydroxylation. Oxo metabolized at oxygen function also. Glycine- taurine-conjugated neither deamidated nor...

We have studied the effect of ursodeoxycholic acid on serum and urinary bile acids in seven patients with moderate to severe primary biliary cirrhosis. Bile were characterized by gas-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry quantified capillary chromatography. Serum elevated 26-fold over control values, 2.2 times more cholic than chenodeoxycholic acid. Urinary output was 22-fold values a acid:chenodeoxycholic ratio 1.6. In addition, lithocholic acid, deoxycholic 1 beta-hydroxycholic...

Fourteen saxicolous lichens from trans-Himalayan Ladakh region were identified by morpho-anatomical and chemical characteristics. The n-hexane, methanol water extracts of the evaluated for their antioxidant capacities. lichen showing high capacities rich phenolic content further investigated to determine cytotoxic activity on human HepG2 RKO carcinoma cell lines. ferric reducing power (FRAP), 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS),...

Plants are an abundant source of medicinal compounds, some which useful in combating free radical-mediated oxidative stress. In the present study, initially two fractions designated REC-1001 (flavonoid-rich fraction) and REC-1002 (flavonoid-poor Hippophae rhamnoides were screened on basis their reducing power aqueous phase. was selected for further since it exhibited 27.38 times higher antioxidant activity than REC-1002. also showed significant (P < .05) membrane protection potential at 50...

Thirty-five coumarin derivatives have been examined for their anticoagulant activity in rabbits by determining the prothrombin time a modification of Quick's onestage method, order to find out structural features eliciting activity. The compounds include methoxylated dicoumarols, substituted 4-hydroxycoumarins, coumarins devoid 4-hydroxyl group, such as 3- and 4-phenylcoumarins 4-methylcoumarins, some complex having additional rings. results show complexity problem involvement various...

Ajmaline and serpentine have been found to be more active than quinidine in the following tests: (1) refractory period of isolated rabbit atria, (2) auricular fibrillation evoked dogs by (a) acetylcholine (b) aconitine, (3) flutter produced injury-stimulation procedure (4) hydrocarbon -epinephrine- induced ventricular arrhythmias anesthetized dogs. When effects these drugs were compared on electrocardiograms cats, ajmaline cause greater prolongation conduction time quinidine.
