Here, temperature-sensitive hybrid poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (pNIPAM) nanosystems with magnetic response are synthesised and investigated for controlled release of 5-fluorouracil (5FU) oxaliplatin (OXA). Initially, nanoparticles (@Fe3O4) by co-precipitation approach functionalised acrylic acid (AA), 3-butenoic (3BA) or allylamine (AL) as comonomers. The thermo-responsive polymer is grown free radical polymerisation using N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAM) monomer, N,N'-methylenbisacrylamide...

The aggregation behavior of asphaltenes in asphaltene−resin mixtures within different host media is studied on the basis asphaltene/resin molecular structures and considering embedding medium as a uniform background field. approach employs models for both resins (as derived from characterization data), uses Molecular Mechanics (MM)/Molecular Dynamics (MD) calculations to predict effect intermolecular interactions process function composition medium. peptizing analyzed ratio resin asphaltene...

Ag2S semiconductor nanoparticles (NPs) are near-infrared luminescent probes with outstanding properties (good biocompatibility, optimum spectral operation range, and easy biofunctionalization) that make them ideal for in vivo imaging. NPs have, indeed, made possible amazing challenges including brain imaging advanced diagnosis of the cardiovascular system. Despite continuous redesign synthesis routes, emission quantum yield (QY) is typically below 0.2%. This leads to a low brightness avoids...

The interaction energy in vacuum between large-scale (630 atom) Maya-oil asphaltenes and that for an asphaltene-resin dimer has been calculated using molecular mechanics various relative orientations distances, keeping a frozen-structure scheme. In the case of asphaltene-asphaltene interactions, it is found anti-aliphatic conformation (i.e., with monomer alkyl branches far away from each other) parallel well-defined aromatic regions constitutes most stable structure asphaltene dimer. For...

The Integral Equation Theory (IET) of fluids and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations have been used to study the stability aggregation asphaltenes in asphaltene−resin mixtures with different host solvents (n-heptane, toluene, pyridine). theory is based on an approximate interaction-potential model that represents asphaltene−asphaltene (A−A), (A−R), resin−resin (R−R) interactions a solvent dielectric constant ε. This interaction potential within Ornstein−Zernike Hypernetted Chain (OZ-HNC)...

Atomic force microscopy (AFM) was used to measure the adhesion of asphaltene aggregates metallic surfaces aluminum (Al) and iron (Fe) at room temperature atmospheric pressure. A simple analytical expression based on Lindhard's continuum planar potential (CPP) approximation that incorporates effect surrounding fluid (a solvent) has no fitting parameters developed tested with experimental results. This provided predictions in good agreement measured data.

Abstract Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) seeks to align the research results with needs of society respond current future problems, also encompassing financial instruments, innovative public policies, distribution resources. These policies should prioritize in those areas greatest impact on society, particularly health research, this be focused responding clinical problems population rather than economic impact. A methodology is proposed that uses information from open sources...
