The present retrospective study was undertaken to prove the reliability of aspect ratio (aneurysm depth aneurysm neck width) for predicting an aneurysmal rupture. is considered a better geometric index than size determining intra-aneurysmal blood flow.We measured ratios and sizes aneurysms, as determined by examining angiographic films magnified 1.4x, in 129 patients with ruptured aneurysms 72 78 unruptured aneurysms. After categorizing into four groups on basis their locations (aneurysms...

Abstract: We have isolated a human cDNA encoding protein, designated DNPI, that shows 82% amino acid identity and 92% similarity to the brain‐specific Na + ‐dependent inorganic phosphate (Na /P i ) cotransporter (BNPI), which is localized exclusively neuron‐rich regions. Expression of DNPI mRNA in Xenopus oocytes resulted significant increase P transport, indicating novel cotransporter. Northern blot analysis expressed predominantly brain, where highest levels are observed medulla,...

Context: Cabergoline fails to normalize hyperprolactinemia in a considerable proportion of prolactinomas, especially macroadenomas. Objective: We examined the effect individualized high-dose cabergoline treatment on prolactinomas. Patients: The study included 122 women and 28 men (93 microadenomas 57 macroadenomas). Forty-seven had undergone transsphenoidal surgery. According preceding medical treatment, participants were separated into untreated (group U; n = 60), intolerant I; 64),...

To understand the molecular processes of continuous vasospasm cerebral arteries after subarachnoid hemorrhage, mRNA differential display and screening cDNA expression array were performed to identify genes that are differentially expressed in vasospastic canine two-hemorrhage models. The levels 18 found be upregulated, those two down-regulated. Of these, 12 represent known or homologues characterized previously, other eight not related any sequences databases. include five upregulated...
