Most photodynamic therapy (PDT) paradigms work through the highly O2-dependent type II photoreaction to generate singlet oxygen (1O2). The hypoxic microenvironment of solid tumors severely hampers therapeutic outcomes. Here, we present a novel design that could transfer photophysical and photochemical properties traditional phthalocyanine-based photosensitizers from efficient I vibrational relaxation-induced photothermal conversion. These features enable obtained nanostructured...

Transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) functions as a potent proliferation inhibitor and apoptosis inducer in the early stages of breast cancer, yet promotes cancer aggressiveness advanced stages. The dual effect TGF-β on development is known paradox, remarkable functional conversion pivotal controversial phenomenon that has been widely investigated for decades. This may be attributed to cross talk between signaling other pathways, including EGF receptor (EGFR) during progression. However,...

We report a novel nanophotosensitizer via one-step covalent assembly of dopamine and genipin. This is the first unveiling photodynamic effect dopamine-based materials. These nanophotosensitizers can also act as pH-responsive drug nanocarriers catechol-boronate linkage, thus achieving combined PDT chemotherapy for highly efficient cancer treatment.

Anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC) is a rare but fatal with BRAF mutation ranging from 30 to 50%. Histone lysine lactylation represents novel epigenetic mark that translates cellular metabolic signals into transcriptional regulation. It not clear whether the Warburg effect can promote proliferation of ATC BRAFV600E via metabolite-mediated histone lactylation. Our study aimed at illustrating how restructures protein landscape boost proliferation, and determining blockade sensitize mutant...

Abstract Although many articles have uncovered that Wnt signaling is involved in radioresistance, the mechanism rarely reported. Here we generated two radioresistant cells rECA109 and rKyse150 from parental esophageal cancer ECA109 Kyse150. We then found activity was higher further activated upon ionizing radiation (IR) exposure. In addition, acquired epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) properties stem quality. to be radioresistance by promoting DNA damage repair. our present study,...

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in the development of skeletal muscle. In our previous study, expression miR-195 and miR-497 were shown to be upregulated during muscle pigs. this we investigated these two miRNAs myogenesis analyzed their transcriptional regulation. Our results showed that myoblast differentiation. Moreover, inhibited proliferation but not differentiation C2C12 cells. Further investigation revealed Igf1r, Insr, Ccnd2 Ccne1 directly targeted by myoblasts. addition,...

Transposable elements are found throughout the genomes of all organisms. Repressive marks such as DNA methylation and histone H3 lysine 9 (H3K9) silence these maintain genome integrity. However, how silencing mechanisms themselves regulated to avoid genes remains unclear. Here, an anti-silencing factor was identified using a forward genetic screen on reporter line that harbors LUCIFERASE (LUC) gene driven by promoter undergoes methylation. SUVH1, Su(var)3–9 homolog, promoting expression LUC...

As a central event in liver fibrogenesis, hepatic stellate cell (HSC) transdifferentiation involves loss of regulation by adipogenic transcription factors such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ; (PPARγ), which is epigenetically silenced during HSC activation. We hypothesized that JMJD1A, an H3K9 demethylase involved metabolism, could regulate PPARγ. In human line, rat primary HSCs, and carbontetrachloride-induced mouse fibrogenesis model, we down-regulated the expression JMJD1A...

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play an important role in regulating almost all biological processes. miRNAs bind to the 3' untranslated region (UTR) of mRNAs by sequence matching. In a previous study, we demonstrated that miR-21 was differently expressed alpaca skin with different hair color. However, molecular and cellular mechanisms for regulate coat color are not yet completely understood. this transfected miR-21a-5p into mouse melanocytes its function on melanogenesis targeting Sox5, which inhibits...

Lipoxygenase (LOX), a non-haem-iron-containing dioxygenase, is activated under various biotic or abiotic stresses to trigger series resistance response, but the molecular mechanism of LOX activation remains unclear. This work investigated during plant defence response induced by excess red light (RL). In conditions RL-induced defence, Arabidopsis activity and transcription levels LOX2, LOX3, LOX4 were both upregulated. Under RL, phytochrome B promoted degradation phytochrome-interacting...
