Hospitalization is a major, stressful experience for children. The stress associated with children's hospitalization may lead to negative physiological and psychological sequelae. Pediatric healthcare professionals can develop interventions decrease during hospitalization. Although Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) frequently used alleviate the of hospitalization, little scientific evidence exists on its efficacy in that situation. • Background Implantable cardioverter defibrillators reduce mortality in patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death and with heart failure. Patients often experience psychological distress poor quality of life, which can potentiate pathological processes that increase the death. To achieve full benefits defibrillators, must maintain their status life. Objectives review research on life implantable suggest nursing interventions to improve patients’ health. The use of a recently developed noninvasive automated blood-pressure device has revealed striking relationship between human communication and elevations in blood pressure both normotensive hypertensive individuals. Individuals with higher resting baseline pressures tended to show greater increases during talking than did those lower pressures. In some individuals 25-40% occurred within 30 sec after the initiation speech. Links difficulties surrounding are discussed.

Background: In older adults with cognitive impairment (CI), decreased functional status and increased behavioral symptoms require relocation from assisted living (AL) to nursing homes. Studies support positive effects of pets on health/function. Purpose: Evaluate the effectiveness Pet AL (PAL) intervention physical, behavioral, emotional function in residents CI. Methods: Cognitively impaired randomized 60-90 minute sessions [PAL (n = 22) or reminiscing 18)] twice/week for 12 weeks. PAL...

Background. Yoga shows promise as a therapeutic intervention, but relationships between yoga practice and health are underexplored. Purpose. To examine the relationship (subjective well-being, diet, BMI, smoking, alcohol/caffeine consumption, sleep, fatigue, social support, mindfulness, physical activity). Methods. Cross-sectional, anonymous internet surveys distributed to 4307 randomly selected from 18,160 individuals at 15 US Iyengar studios; 1045 (24.3%) completed. Results. Mean age 51.7...

ABSTRACTAs the population ages number of older adults living with hypertension (HTN) is rising dramatically. Uncontrolled HTN increases cardiovascular and renal mortality. Ambulatory (A) blood pressure (BP) a better predictor HTN-related morbidity mortality than office BP. Lower BP most important therapeutic goal in treating HTN. Any reduction has significant benefits for adults. The current study was designed to evaluate impact presence pet dogs cats on ABP during daily lives independently...

Quantum algorithms will likely play a key role in future high-performance-computing (HPC) environments. These are typically expressed as quantum circuits composed of arbitrary gates or unitary matrices. Executing these on physical devices, however, requires translation to device-compatible circuits, process called compilation circuit synthesis, since devices support limited number native gates. Moreover, have specific qubit topologies, which constrain how and where can be applied....
