An epiretinal prosthesis, consisting of an extraocular microelectronic stimulator and intraocular electrode array, was implanted in one eye three blind sighted dogs. Three dogs (2 blind, 1 normal) were stimulated for 120 days, two (both 60 103 days respectively 8–10 h/day at levels 0.1 mC cm−2 0.05 cm−2, with each stimulus level presented to half the array. One dog kept as inactive implant control. During study period, electroretinograms (ERG) fundus photographs recorded. At end sacrificed...

Corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) by the use of riboflavin and ultraviolet-A light (UVA) is a promising novel treatment for keratoconus other ectatic disorders. Since CXL results in enhanced corneal stiffness, this study tested hypothesis that CXL-induced stiffening would be proportional to autofluorescence intensity measured with nonlinear optical (NLO) microscopy.Rabbit eyes (n = 50) were separated into five groups including: (1) epithelium intact; (2) removed; (3) removed soaked...

Biometric methods are security technologies, which use human characteristics for personal identification. Iris recognition systems iris textures as unique identifiers. This paper presents an analysis of the verification identities after intra-ocular procedures, when individuals were enrolled before surgery. Fifty-five eyes from fifty-five patients had their irises a cataract surgery was performed. They verified three times and procedure, Hamming (mathematical) distance each identification...
