1. Experimental radiographic investigations are described in which segmentation of the barium suspension small intestine (so-called “deficiency pattern”) was induced normal human subjects. 2. The pattern by administration hypertonic solution sodium bicarbonate, glucose or chloride, addition hydrolysed fat, sprue fæcal fats, certain short chain fatty acids to suspension. 3. sulphate not flocculated solution, lactic acetic acid. Long caused flocculation an acid medium, but floccules tended be...

1. Two different small intestine radiographic patterns are described in the same patient, using a simple flocculable, and complex non-flocculating gelo-colloid preparation of barium sulphate respectively. 2. The significance this finding is discussed.
Recent work on small intestinal patterns has shown that barium sulphate will flocculate in vitro the presence of freshly secreted mucus and flocculation a meal been induced experimentally normal individuals (Frazer, French, Thompson, 1949). Further complex gelo-colloid preparation sulphate, which did not with salivary mucus, provided detailed picture mucosal pattern intestine idiopathic steatorrhœa where ordinary simple aqueous suspension gave flocculated (Ardran, Mucklow, 1950).

Background Acute pancreatitis in dogs is an under‐diagnosed disease. Current diagnostic methods are insufficient at identifying sequelae and lack prognostic capability. Computed tomographic angiography (CTA) accurate for diagnosis prognostication of humans. Objectives In comparison to ultrasound (US), CTA will (1) better diagnose more severe (2) provide assessment patient outcome by identification pancreatic contrast enhancement patterns. Animals Twenty‐six client‐owned suspected have acute...

1. Examination of children with coeliac disease, using a simple suspension barium sulphate in water, resulted flocculation the within lumen intestine, preventing demonstration true mucosal pattern or bowel outline. A flocculated was observed both active and recovery phases disease. 2. When minimised by examination mucus-resistant preparation, small intestinal dilatation found to be feature stage condition. 3. The decrease remission increase again relapse. These variations size, shown...
