We report geometry-dependent cyclizations of o-alkynylaryl ketoximes and nitrones catalyzed by gold complexes. (E)-Ketoximes undergo N-attack to give isoquinoline-N-oxides. In sharp contrast, (Z)-ketoximes unprecedented O-nucleophilic attack, followed a redox cascade leading novel catalytic entry isoindoles diverse scope. The structure an isoindole was unambiguously supported X-ray crystallography. demonstrated the generality synthesis from either (Z)-oximes or nitrones, presented...

An isomeric series of S2O macrocycles incorporating a xylyl group at the ortho (L1), meta (L2), and para (L3) positions were employed to examine influence ring rigidity on silver(I) coordination modes in resulting supramolecular complexes (1−3); L1 L3 afforded sandwich (1; Ag:L1 = 1:2) infinite 1-D (3) complexes, respectively; otherwise, L2 gave polymer (2a), 2:3 club (2b), unique 2:4 bridged dinuclear complex (2c) which their topologies vary with solvent used.

A two-dimensional square-grid-shaped coordination polymer incorporating the dithiaoxa macrocycle (1), [Cu(1)CN]n (2), has been prepared by a self-assembly process involving interaction of 1 with CuCN; parallel reaction CuI afforded one-dimensional double-stranded [Cu(1)I]n (3).

The NO2S2-donor macrocycle (L1) was synthesised from the ring closure reaction between Boc-N-protected 2,2'-iminobis(ethanethiol) (3) and 2,2'-(ethylenedioxy)bis(benzyl chloride) (4) followed by deprotection of Boc-group. alpha,alpha'-Dibromo-p-xylene employed as a dialkylating agent to bridge two L1 yield corresponding N-linked product (L2). X-ray structure L2 (as its HBr salt) is described. A range Cd(II) Hg(II) complexes (6-9) (10-12) were prepared characterised. Reaction HgX2 (X = Br or...

We report the unique thermoresponsive properties of fluorinated polyacrylamides, poly[N-(2,2-difluoroethyl)acrylamide] (P2F). The solubility polyacrylamides in water can be easily controlled by changing number fluorine atoms N-ethyl groups. Moreover, we demonstrate that are less cytotoxic than poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM).
