The spring-type near isogenic line (NIL) of the winter-type barley (Hordeum vulgare ssp. vulgare) var. Hayakiso 2 (HK2) was developed by introducing VERNALIZATION-H1 (Vrn-H1) for spring growth habit from Indo Omugi. Contrary to expectations, NIL flowered later than HK2. This phenotypic difference controlled a single gene, which cosegregated only with phytochrome C (HvPhyC) among three candidates around Vrn-H1 region (Vrn-H1, HvPhyC, and CASEIN KINASE IIα), indicating that HvPhyC most likely...

<title>Abstract</title> CD19-targeted chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy is an effective treatment for relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphoma but associated with adverse events such as cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity (ICANS). The pathogenesis of ICANS remains unclear, predictive biomarkers are needed risk stratification. This study evaluates the Grand Total EEG (GTE) score, a comprehensive scoring system electroencephalogram (EEG)...

Vaccination against vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) is highly recommended for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) recipients by several guidelines; however, the safety and seropositivity after live attenuated vaccines remain unclear in adult HSCT recipients. We analyzed titers of antibodies measles, rubella, mumps, varicella zoster virus (VZV) from Japanese patients who underwent allogeneic (allo-HSCT) (n = 74), autologous (auto-HSCT) 39), or chemotherapy 93). The seropositive...

A 54-year-old woman developed polymyositis 6 months after allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) for acute myelogenous leukemia transformed from myelodysplasia. At the onset of myositis, patient had oral dryness, and histology mucosa was compatible with chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). Muscle biopsy revealed focal muscle necrosis massive lymphocytic infiltration. She diagnosed polymyositis, dose cyclosporine increased. Three later, a complete resolution myositis been obtained,...

Abstract Immunomodulatory drugs (IMiDs) are key for treating multiple myeloma and myelodysplastic syndrome with chromosome 5q deletion. IMiDs exert their pleiotropic effects through the interaction between cell-specific substrates cereblon, a substrate receptor of E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. Thus, identification is important understanding IMiDs. increase risk thromboembolism, which sometimes results in fatal clinical outcomes. In this study, we sought to clarify molecular mechanisms...

Sweet syndrome is a rare inflammatory disease with rapid onset of painful, edematous skin eruptions, and neutrophilia. Concerning hematological disorders, often presents in patients myeloid diseases, but it rarely observed lymphoid diseases. Here we describe 72-year-old male Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia who suffered recurring syndrome. Following induction chemotherapy, granulocyte colony-stimulating factors (G-CSFs) were administered due to febrile...
