Abstract Discrimination of cancer cells/tissues from normal ones is critical importance for early diagnosis and treatment cancers. Herein, we present a new strategy high‐contrast fluorescence based on β‐Lapachone (β‐Lap, an anticancer agent) triggered ROS (reactive oxygen species) amplification specific in cells/tissues. With the strategy, wide range cells/tissues, including surgical tissue specimens harvested patients, were distinguished by using combination β‐Lap Si‐rhodamine‐based NIR...

Boron–dipyrromethenes (Bodipys), since first reported in 1968, have emerged as a fascinating class of dyes the past few decades due to their excellent photophysical properties including bright fluorescence, narrow emission bandwidth, resistance photobleaching, and environment insensitivity. However, typical Bodipys are highly lipophilic, which often results nonfluorescent aggregates aqueous solution also severely limits bioavailability cells tissues. In this work, based on simple one-atom B...

Abstract Dysfunction of Tumour Suppressor Genes (TSGs) is a common feature in carcinogenesis. Epigenetic abnormalities including DNA hypermethylation or aberrant histone modifications promoter regions have been described for interpreting TSG inactivation. However, many instances, how TSGs are silenced tumours largely unknown. Given that miRNA with low expression another recognized signature, we hypothesize may reduce the activity related enhancers and further lead to inactivation during...

Abstract Currently, there is no effective drugs for treating clinically COVID-19 except dexamethasone. We previously revealed that human identical sequences of SARS-CoV-2 promote the progression by upregulating hyaluronic acid (HA). As inhibitor HA synthesis, hymecromone an approved prescription drug used biliary spasm. Here, we aimed to investigate relation between and COVID-19, evaluate therapeutic effects on COVID-19. Firstly, was closely relevant clinical parameters, including...

Leaf senescence reduces the photosynthetic capacity of leaves, thus significantly affecting growth, development, and yield formation cotton. Melatonin (MT) is a multipotent substance proven to delay leaf senescence. However, its potential mechanism in delaying induced by abiotic stress remains unclear. This study aimed explore effect MT on drought-induced cotton seedlings clarify morphological physiological mechanisms. Drought upregulated marker genes, destroyed photosystem, led excessive...

Fluorogenic probes have shown great potential in imaging biological species as well diagnosing diseases, especially cancers. However, the fluorogenic mechanisms are largely limited to a few photophysical processes date, typically including photoinduced electron transfer (PeT), fluorescence resonant energy (FRET), and intramolecular charge (ICT). Herein, by calculations experiments, we set forth that inhibition of excited-state π-conjugation meso-ester Si-rhodamine SiR-COOM or...

Abstract microRNAs (miRNAs) are short non-coding RNAs that have been increasingly recognized for their significant roles in the progression of cancer. Distinct miRNAs exhibit diverse functions attributed to variations sequences. As a result possessing highly homologous seed sequences, these target overlapping or similar gene sets, thus performing analogous roles. However, different from this sight, our study discovered miR-135a-5p and miR-135b-5p, despite differing by only one nucleotide,...
