This study aimed to develop a convenient model investigate the senescence of host defenses and influence food nutrition. A small soil nematode, Caenorhabditis elegans, was grown for 3 days from hatching on lawn Escherichia coli OP50 as normal source, subsequently some nematodes were fed lactic acid bacteria (LAB). The life spans worms LAB significantly longer than those OP50. To effect age defenses, 3- 7-day-old transferred onto Salmonella enterica serovar Enteritidis infection. died over...

In Parkinson's disease (PD), α–synuclein (αSyn) accumulation drives neuropathological progression, establishing it as a potential therapeutic target. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) provide various health benefits to the host and are expected offer protective effects on neurological functions through brain–gut connection, indicated by animal studies. However, of LAB against αSyn not well understood. We investigated whether feeding could reduce improve mobility in transgenic Caenorhabditis elegans...

ABSTRACT The pathogenesis of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) involves the colonization hosts by factors (CFs) and secretion enterotoxins. CFs, especially chaperone‐usher fimbriae, mediate bacterial adhesion to host cells, with extensive genetic diversity observed among isolates. One ETEC strain, O169YN10, possessed a unique plasmid (pEntYN10) encoding three CS6, two novel homologs CS8 F4 (CS6 O169 , ). In this study, was found play major role in multiple hosts, including human,...

A total 9366 stool were examined; isolated from 11.1% diarrhoeal stools 2.2% normal (P less than 0.001). counts specimens, which included minced beef, pork chicken, seafood various vegetables products, unexpectedly high suggesting that infection might be food-borne rather water-borne. Abstract To assess the utility of autofluorescence as a noninvasive biomarker senescence in Caenorhabditis elegans , we measured individual nematodes using spectrofluorometry. The fluorescence each worm increased with age. Animals lower intensity exhibited longer life expectancy. When proteins extracted from worms were incubated sugars, and concentration advanced glycation end products (AGEs) over time. Ribose enhanced these changes not only vitro but also vivo. blocker rifampicin suppressed...

A total number 309 (249 bovine 60 ovine) strains isolated. 113 15 ovine subjected to multiplex polymerase chain reaction (m-PCR) detection stx1, stx2, eaeA EHEC hlyA genes. To investigate the presence or absence of shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) in avian species India.Faecal samples originating from 500 chicken and 25 free flying pigeons were screened for E. coli. A total 426 (chicken, 401; pigeons, 25) strains isolated. Of strains, 387 grouped into 77 serogroups, while 70 59 untypable rough, respectively. Escherichia coli O166:H15 was isolated from stool specimens patients (29/33, 88%). Laboratory tests for other bacterial pathogens and viruses were negative. The survival times of Caenorhabditis elegans worms infected with Legionella pneumophila from day 7.5 or later after hatching were shorter than those uninfected worms. However, nematodes fed bifidobacteria prior to infection resistant Legionella. These may act as a unique alternative host for research.
