A variety of mycoviruses have been found in Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. In this study, we report a novel mycovirus sclerotiorum botybirnavirus 1 (SsBRV1) that was originally isolated from the hypovirulent strain SCH941 S. SsBRV1 has rigid spherical virions are ~38 nm diameter, and three dsRNA segments (dsRNA1, 2 3 with lengths 6.4, 6.0 1.7 kbp, respectively) were packaged virions. dsRNA1 encodes cap-pol fusion protein, dsRNA2 polyprotein unknown functions but contributes to formation virus...

Recently, an increasing number of ourmia-like viruses have been found in fungi; however, the features these remain unknown. Here, we report a novel virus isolated from Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. This virus, named sclerotiorum 4 (SsOLV4), has genome 2982 nt length with G-pentamer (GGGGG) at 5'-terminus and C-pentamer (CCCCC) 3'-terminus. The SsOLV4 only one large putative open reading frame (ORF) predicted both standard codes mitochondrial encodes RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp). is...

Various mycoviruses have been isolated from Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Here, we identified a viral RNA sequence contig, representing novel virus, sclerotiorum deltaflexivirus 2 (SsDFV2), an RNA_Seq database. We found that SsDFV2 was harbored in the hypovirulent strain, 228, which grew slowly on potato dextrose agar, produced few sclerotia, and could not induce typical lesions detached rapeseed (Brassica napus) leaves. Strain 228 also infected by Botrytis porri Virus 1 (BpRV1), virus...

Mango (Mangifera indica) is a commercially significant fruit crop cultivated globally. However, leaf spot diseases are common in mango orchards, which severely impact the yield. Mycoviruses hold promise as potential biocontrol agents. To investigate this possibility, fungi were isolated from lesions, resulting identification of six strains that contained double-stranded RNA (dsRNA). Through BLASTx analysis NCBI non-redundant database, 27 mycovirus-related contigs identified, corresponded to...

Abstract Carbon fixation pathway of plants (CFPP) in photosynthesis converts solar energy to biomass, bio-products and biofuel. Intriguingly, a large number heterotrophic fungi also possess enzymes functionally associated with CFPP, raising the questions about their roles fungal development evolution. Here, we report on presence 17 CFPP (ten Calvin-Benson-Basham reductive pentose phosphate seven C4-dicarboxylic acid cycle) genome Sclerotinia sclerotiorum , phytopathogenic fungus only two...
