We report a revised determination of charmed-D-meson absolute branching fractions based on complete reconstruction DD¯ events at the ψ(3770). Two backgrounds, Cabibbo-suppressed and multi-π0 D decays, are addressed in detail. The first measurement decay D0→K−π+π0π0 establishes sensitivity to hitherto unobserved modes. Removal both backgrounds reduces values our previously reported by (21-24)%, leaving their ratios largely unchanged. new unable account fully for deficit charm production...

Inclusive cross sections for the proton and nuclear targets of A=4, 9, 12, 16 were measured 537 730 MeV electrons scattered at 37.1 deg. Systematic features continuum scattering data are compared with other electron photoabsorption measurements. A model calculation based on isobar-hole formalism is in delta resonance region.

Differential cross sections for Compton scattering from the deuteron were measured at MAX-Lab incident photon energies of 55 and 66 MeV nominal laboratory angles 45 degrees, 125 135 degrees. Tagged photons scattered liquid deuterium detected in three NaI spectrometers. By comparing data with theoretical calculations framework a one-boson-exchange potential model, sum difference isospin-averaged nucleon polarizabilities, alpha(N)+beta(N)=17.4+/-3.7 alpha(N)-beta(N)=6.4+/-2.4 (in units 10(-4)...

We present a study of the decay sequence Jψ→γX, X→γρ0, ρ0→π+π−, based on 5.8 × 106 produced Jψ collected by Mark III detector at SLAC storage ring SPEAR. In γρ0 mass spectrum, we find two peaks with masses and widths consistent axial-vector mesons f1(1285) f1(1420) that have recently been observed in two-photon collisions. Fits to angular distributions confirm first peak is an state, but are unable distinguish between or pseudoscalar η(1430) for high-mass peak. Product branching fractions...

A near-threshold 4He(g,n) cross-section measurement has been performed at MAX-lab. Tagged photons from 23 < Eg 42 MeV were directed toward a liquid 4He target, and neutrons detected by time-of-flight in two liquid-scintillator arrays. Seven-point angular distributions measured for eight photon energies. The results are compared to experimental data comparable energies Recoil-Corrected Continuum Shell Model, Resonating Group Method, recent Hyperspherical-Harmonic Expansion calculations....
