This paper aims to determine the feasibility of phosphoric acid-based geopolymer highly porous foams elaborated by a surfactant induced mechanical foaming. The processing and consolidation parameters basalt fibers reinforced were determined. influence aluminosilicate source on synthesis usable samples is reported, showing that Si/Al ratio as well reactivity crucial ensure good consolidation. effect Al/P composition foam its properties also discussed. Two optimal formulations with very (water...

The impact of metakaolin mixtures on geopolymer formation and corresponding properties was evaluated by synthesizing geopolymers from different metakaolins 5 M potassium silicate. Mixture reactivity investigated viscosity, thermogravimetric (DTA-TGA), in situ infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) measurements. Furthermore, mechanical strength porosity measurements were undertaken consolidated materials. results have shown that the aluminum molar concentration governs setting time oligomer energy....

Abstract Acid‐based geopolymers are known for their high temperature resistance and good mechanical performances. Some compositions also exhibit water resistance, which make them suitable outdoor applications. This work aims to understand accurately the steps occurring during geopolymerization process focuses on type of networks forming at early stages reaction. The sample, prepared from metakaolin phosphoric acid, has been analyzed different durations temperatures its solidification, in...

Real nanoparticles can hardly be considered as isolated objects in vacuum with pure stoichiometric chemical composition. It expected that some surface stabilizing mechanisms may occur real systems, and they could induce more or less pronounced effects on the structure of nanoparticles. In this work, we analyzed effect impurities ultrasmall ZrO2 using ab initio simulation methods. The study was performed cluster models, a diameter around 1.25 nm, Car–Parrinello molecular dynamics method...

Rubidium vapor is loaded into hypocycloidal core shaped Kagome hollow-core photonic crystal fiber (HC-PCF) with the wall of its inner coated aluminosilicate ceramic (sol-gel). We show that presence Rb maintained for a longer duration when compared to uncoated HC-PCF. within sol-gel HC-PCF preserved over 500 h after source halted. And detected in more than 80 background signal no observed.

Abstract An optimized sol–gel protocol was carried out to produce an yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) xerogel from alkoxide and salt on a semi-pilot scale. This successfully used without prior pyrolysis as solid load with the aid of additives in preparation pastes. Thermal treatment green bodies, obtained by robocasting paste, led cohesive single-phase YAG ceramics. Manufacturing ceramic pieces additive methods will allow shaping complex forms, while single step conversion/consolidation would...
