Abstract There are some reports that low doses of γ-irradiation could induce antioxidant activities in plant material, including soybean. Irradiation, required for the inactivation pathogens and induction mutations, may have adverse effects on sensorial, nutritional qualities. The different (100–200 Gy) properties soybean seeds was investigated. In this study, we report results obtained by analysis enzyme activities, reduced glutathione, malonyldialdehyde (MDA) hydroxyl (HO−) radical...

Alfalfa is an autotetraploid, allogamous and heterozygous forage legume, whose varieties are synthetic populations. Due to the complex nature of species, information about genetic diversity germplasm used in any alfalfa breeding program most beneficial. The five varieties, involved progeny tests at Institute Field Vegetable Crops, was characterized based on RAPD markers. A total 60 primers were screened, out which 17 selected for analysis diversity. 156 polymorphic bands generated, with 10.6...

Genetic diversity studies are important for the selection of parents with a greater combination capacity that, when crossed, increase chances obtaining superior genotypes. Thus, 26 polymorphic simple sequence repeat (SSR) primers were used to assess genetic 140 individual samples from 12 diploid sugar beet pollinators (pollen parents) and two cytoplasmic male sterile (cms) lines (seed parents). Eight originated three research centers in United States Department Agriculture, while four cms...

The objective of this work was to quantify the accumulation major seed storage protein subunits, β-conglycinin and glycinin, how they influence yield oil contents in high-protein soybean genotypes. relative subunits calculated by scanning SDS-PAGE gels using densitometry. content tested genotypes higher than control cultivar same maturity group. Several with improved unchanged or were developed as a result new breeding initiatives. This research confirmed that cultivars accumulate amounts...

The molecular diversity studies of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) germplasm could contribute to a more precise selection parental populations in many breeding programs. Sequence-related amplified polymorphism (SRAP) markers were used assess the genetic 110 individual plants from 13 selected cultivars, landraces, and natural Tunisia, Australia, Serbia, Kazakhstan. Ten polymorphic SRAP primer combinations generated 137 alleles with 0.90 information content. percentage bands per genotype ranged...

In marker assisted breeding programs, determination of genome polymorphism and development suitable molecular markers is the greatest importance. The aim this research was RAPD markers, which will enable quick cost efficient DNA analysis among closely related sugar beet genotypes. conducted on twelve genotypes from population Reactions with eight primers five primer mixtures resulted in stable reproducible bands all samples, 44 polymorphic 14 monomorphic loci, average 6.13 per primer....

This work describes the incidence and distribution of most important bean viruses in Serbia: Bean common mosaic virus (BCMV), necrosis (BCMNV), yellow (BYMV), Cucumber (CMV) Alfalfa (AMV). The viral isolates were characterized serologically biologically. BCMV was found largest number plants (30.53%), followed by BCMNV (2.67%), CMV (5.34%), AMV (3.41%), since BYMV not determined. Mixed infections several samples. RT-PCR method used to prove that tested belong BCMV, family Potyviridae strains...
