Right- and left-handed circularly polarized light (CPL) has been proposed as one of the origins homochirality biomolecules. However, enantiomeric excess induced by CPL only very low (<2% ee). We found unprecedented example asymmetric autocatalysis triggered directly a chiral physical factor, that is, right- CPL, leading to near enantiopure compound. Asymmetric photolysis racemic pyrimidyl alkanol r-CPL irradiation followed affords (R)-pyrimidyl with >99.5% ee. On other hand, l-CPL...

Straightforward substitution: An excellent combination of a silyl nucleophile and indium catalyst was used to accomplish the dehydroxylation/alkylation alcohols under nearly neutral conditions (see scheme, Si=silyl group) even though this type reaction usually requires at least an equimolar amount acid. Abstract In this paper we describe a method for modeling and rendering dynamic behavior of fluids withsplashes foam. A particle system is built into fluid simulation to represent an ocean wavecresting spraying over another object. We use the Cubic Interpolated Propagation (CIP) asthe solver. The CIP can solve liquid gas together in framework dynamicsand has high accuracy case relatively coarse grids. This enables us simulate ashort time motion splashes air that associated with well. The foam...

The combination of InCl3 and Me3SiBr provided an enhanced Lewis acid system that can be used to promote a wide range direct coupling reactions between alcohols silyl nucleophiles in non-halogenated solvents, such as hexane or MeCN. acidity this was measured by the 13C NMR terms coordination alcohol. Moreover, interaction In(III) species revealed 29Si spectral analysis. Highly chemoselective allylations toward hydroxyl moiety over ketone acetoxy ones have been demonstrated.

Effects of WC grain size, Co content and Cr3C2 addition WC-Co based cemented carbides on tensile fatigue property were investigated because repetitive stress often causes fracture impact punches. To determine loads for measuring property, strength each carbide was measured. Fatigue evaluated by number times until the several at grade carbide. The specimens broken into two in a small high stress. not numbers 107 decreasing to 30-50 % strength. Fining size WC, optimized adopting increased same

Abstract This study investigated R‐ curve behavior when a crack extended several 100 nm for Y 2 O 3 –Al doped Si N 4 ceramics, using single‐edge notched microcantilever beam specimens. The serrate or sawtooth was observed around the maximum load of load‐displacement diagram, indicating repetition initiation and arrest. toughness plots with extension from diagram resulted in rising R ‐curve fitting into one smooth line, which showed 1.4 MPa m 1/2 increase during equivalent to one‐grain...

Mechanical forces are critical for regulating many biological processes such as cell differentiation, proliferation, and death. Probing the continuously changing molecular force through integrin receptors provides insights into mechanism of rigidity sensing in cells; however, information is still limited. Here, we built a coil-shaped DNA origami (DNA nanospring, NS) sensor that reports dynamic motion single integrins well magnitude orientation living cells. We monitored extension with...

Direct Csp3-Csp3 coupling of various aliphatic trimethylsilyl ethers and allylsilanes is effectively catalyzed by InCl3 I2. The transformation thought to involve an in situ-derived combined Lewis acid Me3SiI. reaction can be used for the construction quaternary-quaternary quaternary-tertiary carbon-carbon bonds. This system enabled a highly chemoselective conducted with ether including aryl halide moiety. Furthermore, couplings were possible using alkynyltrimethylsilane ketene acetal.
