The combination of carbenicillin plus cephalothin (carb-ceph) was compared to the kanamycin (carb-kan) as therapy during 179 episodes presumed infection in 113 cancer patients with neutropenia. overall response rate similar for both treatment groups (48% vs. 49%). Among identified infection, 30 50 (60%) responded carb-ceph and 28 48 (58%) carb-kan. In persistent severe neutropenia, better carb-kan than (45% 15%), although difference not statistically significant. Neither routinely effective...
Comprehensive understanding prognostic relevance of distinct tumor microenvironment (TME) remained elusive in colon cancer. In this study, we performed silico analysis the stromal components primary cancer, with a focus on markers cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAF) and tumor-associated endothelia (TAE), as well immunological infiltrates like myeloid cells (TAMC) cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL). The relevant CAF-associated genes (CAFG)(representing R index = 0.9 or beyond SPARC ) were selected...
Fibroblast migration, proliferation, extracellular matrix protein synthesis and degradation, all of which play important roles in inflammation, are them selves induced by various growth factors cytokines. Less is known about the interaction these substances on lung fibroblast function pulmonary fibrosis. The goal this study was to investigate effects PDGF alone combination with IL–1β TNF–α production human metalloproteinases, chemotactic response. assay for MMPs activity against FITC labeled...

The were extracted three times 40 vol 50% aqueous ethanol (mg dry powder/mL) containing 2% ascorbic acid. extracts diluted 4-fold distilled water. All directly applied to the C18 cartridge column without concentration. fraction of obtained 40% after rinsing water followed 15%...
Abstract Introduction The advantages of robotic‐assisted laparoscopic surgery (RALS) for rectal cancer remain controversial. This study clarified and compared the short‐term outcomes RALS with those conventional (CLS). Methods records 303 consecutive patients who underwent or CLS adenocarcinoma between November 2016 2021 were analyzed using propensity score‐matched analysis. After matching, 188 enrolled in our to compare outcomes, such as operative results, postoperative complications,...
The purpose of this study was to measure the effective dose during abdominal three-dimensional imaging obtained with an angiography unit a digital flat-panel system on phantom and determine dose-area product (DAP)-to–effective conversion factors. DAPs doses were evaluated for 163-cm-tall human-shaped phantoms estimated body weights 54, 64, 77 kg, 2.1, 3.2, 4.2 mSv, respectively. DAP-to–effective factors 0.28–0.29 mSv · Gy−1 cm−2. In conclusion, useful estimating angiographic imaging. © RSNA, 2009
<h3>BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: </h3> Some recent studies on radiation lens injuries have indicated much lower dose thresholds than specified by the current protection guidelines. The purpose of this research was to measure during brain CT scans with multidetector row and assess methods for estimating dose. <h3>MATERIALS METHODS: With 8 types scanners, both axial helical were obtained head part a human-shaped phantom using normal clinical settings orbitomeatal line as baseline. We measured doses...
Kodamaea ohmeri is a relatively rare yeast isolated form clinical specimens, and it known to be causative fungus of severe invasive infectious diseases in immunocompromised hosts. Herein, we describe fungemia due K. patient with extended burn. The isolate was obtained from not only blood specimens but also skin lesions. We should aware risk for including case
Chronic cough is the only symptom of eosinophilic bronchitis (EB). There considerable overlap between EB and atopic cough. To investigate antitussive effects a histamine H1-recetor antagonist, epinastine hydrochloride (epinastine, CAS 80012-43-7, Alesion; 20 mg/day, once daily), scores, pulmonary function, capsaicin threshold, bronchial hyperresonsiveness (BHR) to methacholine (MCh) were evaluated before after 4-week treatment with in patients EB. In group, scores decreased significantly...
Fibroblast migration, proliferation, extracellular matrix protein synthesis and degradation are the key events in various biological pathological processes pulmonary fibrosis. In addition, biopsy specimens from lungs of patients with fibrosis show increased numbers mast cells which have metachromatic granules containing heparin, histamine proteases. Little is known about how these products influence present study, we investigated effect heparin related glycosaminoglycans on PDGF-induced lung...
Temporohyoid osteoarthropathy (THO) is characterized by progressive osseous proliferation of the stylohyoid and petrous temporal bones. Generally, diagnosis confirmed guttural pouch endoscopy skull radiography. In present case, computed tomography (CT) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were performed in a 6-month-old Thoroughbred foal showing signs head tilt unilateral ear droop, consistent with presence vestibular disease facial paralysis. CT revealed bony fusion right temporohyoid joint,...
Elevated expression of transforming growth factor (TGF)-beta1 has been reported in hereditary cerebral small-vessel (HCSV) disease. The aim this study was to clarify whether TGF-beta1 is a risk for intracranial deep white matter lesions (DWLs) and their progression general elderly population. The subjects included 81 participants (Groups DWL, DWLP, C) who had voluntarily undergone health examination brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) 2003 2008 43 age-matched patients with previous...
Abstract The benefits of robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery (RALS) for rectal cancer remain controversial. Only a few studies have evaluated the safety and feasibility RALS following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NCRT). This study aimed to compare short-term outcomes versus conventional (CLS) after NCRT cancer. Propensity score matching 111 consecutive patients who underwent or CLS adenocarcinoma between February 2014 2022 was performed. Among them, 60 matched were enrolled their compared....
Cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy (CADASIL) is a major hereditary small vessel disease caused by mutations in NOTCH3.The variations progression severity among patients suggest that the CADASIL phenotype modified some genetic environmental factors.Recent studies have shown potential roles of gut microbiota human diseases. We hypothesized modifies phenotype. We performed microbial meta 16S rRNA analysis fecal samples from 15 16...
Intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1)-mediated cell-cell is thought to play an important role at sites of inflammation. Recent evidence suggests that ICAM-1 surface expression on alveolar macrophages increased in pulmonary sarcoidosis and inflammatory granuloma formation characterized by the aggregation macrophages. The present study shows significantly elevated from patients with response tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) interferon-gamma (INF-gamma) compared healthy controls....
Heparanase activity is correlated with the metastatic potential of several cancer cells and a key enzyme in breakdown tissue barriers. It also involved regulation growth factor cytokine activity. However, little known about factors that induce heparanase cells. We investigated effect three factors, plateletderived (PDGF), hepatocyte (HGF) basic fibroblast (bFGF), on mRNA induction lung vitro . In addition, we examined erythromycin (EM) clarithromycin (CAM), which are 14‐membered ring...
In order to clarify the mechanism of antitussive effects azelastine hydrochloride (azelastine, CAS 790307-93-0), cough responses inhaled capsaicin and substance P (SP) were evaluated before after administration in conscious guinea pigs.
