Background: We investigated the effects of roxadustat on anemia, iron metabolism, peritoneal membrane function, and residual renal function; determined factors associated with administration in patients who were undergoing dialysis. Methods: retrospectively analyzed changes hemoglobin, serum ferritin, transferrin saturation (TSAT), 4-h dialysate/plasma creatinine, weekly urea clearance over 24 weeks following change from an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) to 16 dialysis had anemia...

Abstract A fixed‐dose formula that combines Ombitasvir (OBV), Paritaprevir (PTV) and Ritonavir (RTV) has been launched into the field of anti‐HCV therapy in Japan for patients infected with HCV genotypes 1 2 2015. However, little is yet known as to efficacy safety this novel on maintenance haemodialysis (HD). The present report describes a preliminary experience 10 (five males five females) who underwent HD. All them had genotype 1b, without having resistance‐associated variants at Y93 or...

Background: Zinc deficiency is common and associated with erythropoietin resistant anemia, dysgeusia, hypogonadism in patients undergoing hemodialysis. However, the prevalence clinical effects of zinc peritoneal dialysis (PD) have not been determined. Methods: This was a retrospective, cross-sectional study. The serum factors related to concentration were determined 49 PD [mean age 59.5 years (±14.8 years), 38/49 men (78.6%), median period 24.0 months (12.5-45.0 months)]. A <60 μg/dL defined...

Carnitine deficiency contributes to developing various pathological conditions, such as cardiac dysfunction, muscle weakness, and erythropoietin-resistant anemia in patients undergoing hemodialysis. However, a conclusion has not been reached concerning the prevalence effect of carnitine peritoneal dialysis (PD). In this study, clinical factors associated with were investigated 60 PD. The median age was 62.5 years (52.5–72.5 years), proportion male sex 44/60 (73.3%), PD period 24 months...

Only a few cases of renal vein thrombosis (RVT) occurring in patients with vasculitis have been reported. RVT associated and hemolytic anemia has not reported yet. We describe here patient complicated by pulmonary embolism, autoimmune anemia, eosinophilic granulomatous polyangiitis. A 69-year-old Japanese man who had treated corticosteroids was referred to our department for severe proteinuria (4.32 g/gCr). Abdominal ultrasonography showed bilateral RVT, contrast-enhanced computed tomography...

Near-infrared spectroscopy has been used to measure the regional oxygen saturation (rSO2) of brain, and decreases in cerebral rSO2 have reported lead cognitive impairment patients undergoing hemodialysis. However, reports about association between changes oxygenation clinical parameters at hemodialysis initiation, including hemoglobin level, are lacking. This study included 33 initiation phase.
