✓ Four-vessel angiography was repeated in 56 patients with confirmed subarachnoid hemorrhage whom the initial investigation negative. Only one aneurysm demonstrated. The results suggest that, good technique, careful observation, and a complete four-vessel cerebral angiography, false negative rate of less than 2% can be achieved. It is suggested that to repeat pan-angiography seldom justified unless further bleeding episodes occur.

This phantom study assesses the accuracy of stereotactic localization using Leksell G frame (Elekta Instruments AB, Stockholm, Sweden) with T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (Siemens 1.5 T Magnetom; Erlangen, Germany). The coordinates an array solid perspex rods were determined and compared measured values in a series transverse, coronal, sagittal images. maximum absolute errors observed (X = 2.7 mm, Y 7.0 Z 8.0 mm) discouraging. However, more reasonable mean 0.4 0.7 1.3 reflect...

Abstract OBJECTIVE Microsurgical resection of a cavernous malformation (CM) with or without associated cortical can provide efficient treatment drug-resistant epilepsy. To explore the potential alternative role radiosurgery and to evaluate its safety efficacy for this indication, we conducted retrospective multicenter study. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed files patients long-lasting epilepsy, presumably caused by CM, who were treated gamma knife (GK) surgery control their epilepsy in...

Abstract In coreless filament winding, resin-impregnated fibre filaments are wound around anchor points without an additional mould. The final geometry of the produced part results from interaction fibres in space and is initially undetermined. Therefore, success large-scale composite structures for architectural applications relies on reciprocal collaboration simulation, fabrication, quality evaluation, data integration domains. correlation those domains enables optimization design towards...

Abstract Fiber-reinforced composites offer innovative solutions for architectural applications with high strength and low weight. Coreless filament winding extends industrial processes, reduces formwork, allows tailoring of fiber layups to specific requirements. A previously developed computational co-design framework coreless is extended toward the integration reciprocal design feedback maximize flexibility inform decisions throughout process. multi-scalar representation introduced,...

To investigate the potential of novel magnetic resonance (MR) angiographic techniques for assessment cerebral arteriovenous malformations.Forty patients who were about to undergo stereotactic radiosurgery prospectively recruited. Three-dimensional, sliding-slab interleaved ky (SLINKY), time-of-flight acquisition was performed, as a dynamic MR digital subtraction angiography (DSA) procedure in which single thick slices (6-10 cm) obtained using radiofrequency spoiled Fourier-acquired...

The degree of static indeterminacy and its spatial distribution characterize load-bearing structures independent a specific load case. redundancy matrix stores the on main diagonal, thereby offers possibility to use this property for assessment structures. It is especially suitable be used in early planning stages design exploration. In paper, performance indicators with respect robustness assemblability are derived from matrix. For each indicators, detailed matrix-based derivation given...

Abstract. Fourteen patients with posterior uveal melanomas were treated using single fraction stereotactic radiosurgery. In each case a dose of 70 Gy was administered to the periphery tumour. Regression tumour has been observed in 13 patients, whilst lesion remained unchanged one patient. The visual acuity deteriorated all 14 patients. Significant radiation induced adverse reactions noted and include; retinopathy, optic neuropathy, rubeosis iridis, secondary glaucoma. Two have required...
