Herein, we have utilized 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)benzimidazole (HBI) to synthesize 3-(1H-benzoimidazol-2-yl)-2-hydroxy-5-methyl-benzaldehyde (HBIA) followed by three Schiff bases using -ortho (H2 BIo), -meta (H3 BIdm) and -para BIp) substituted amino benzoic acids studied their photophysical properties. We successfully derived molecular structures of HBI, HBIA H3 BIdm which reveals that in HBI HBIA, the phenolic -OH is intramolecularly hydrogen bonded with sp2 N benzimidazole group whereas BIdm,...
A doubly chloro bridged dinuclear copper(ii) complex was synthesized and magneto-structural correlation drawn. The exhibits promising anticancer activity in HepG2 cells.
A new pyridoxal-based chemosensor (PydDmen) was reported for selective detection of Zn2+ in solution. The experimental and theoretical supports are provided to establish induced transformation PydDmen 3-pyridone tautomeric form.
The synthesis, structures, and magnetic properties of two heterometallic CuII–DyIII clusters are reported. first structural motif displays a pentanuclear CuII4DyIII core, while the second one reveals nonanuclear CuII6DyIII3 core. We employed o-vanillin-based Schiff base ligands combining o-vanillin with 3-amino-1-propanol, H2vap, (2-[(3-hydroxy-propylimino)-methyl]-6-methoxy-phenol), 2-aminoethanol, H2vae, (2-[(3-hydroxy-ethylimino)-methyl]-6-methoxy-phenol). differing nuclearities stem from...
We report herein the syntheses and investigation of magnetic properties a CoII4 compound, series trinuclear CoII2LnIII (LnIII = NdIII, SmIII, GdIII, TbIII, DyIII) complexes, CoII7 complex. The homometallic core was obtained from reaction Ln(NO3)3·xH2O/Co(NO3)2·6H2O/H2vab/Et3N in 0.5:0.5:1:2 ratio methanol. Variation synthetic conditions necessary to get desired CoII-LnIII complexes. assembly synthesized Ln(NO3)3·xH2O/Co(OAc)2·4H2O/H2vab/NaOMe 0.4:0.5:1:1 isostructural complexes have...
Two new complexes based on a Schiff base derived from pyridoxal N,N-dimethylethylenediamine (HL1) and N,N-diethylethylenediamine (HL2), [Ni(L1)SCN] (1) [Ni(L2)SCN] (2), have been synthesized structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction along with other physical techniques, including elemental analyses, IR spectra, cyclic voltammetry, UV–vis, luminescence studies. studies suggest that in both the nickel lies slightly distorted square planar environment occupied tridentate...
Mixed valence cobalt based coordination compounds acting as single ion magnets and water oxidation catalysts.
Optical chemosensors caused a revolution in the field of sensing due to their high specificity, sensitivity, and fast detection features. Imidazole derivatives have offered promising features literature as they bear suitable donor/acceptor groups for selective analytes skeleton. In this work, an isoindole-imidazole containing Schiff base chemosensor (1-{3-[(2-Diethylamino-ethylimino)-methyl]-2-hydroxy-5-methyl-phenyl}-2H-imidazo[5,1-a]isoindole-3,5-dione) was designed synthesized. The...
A facile and reliable method to monitor strongly acidic pH was developed. The sensing mechanism found involve the protonation-deprotonation equilibrium of synthesized probe HQphy (1) (N-phenyl-N'-quinoxalin-2-ylmethylene-hydrazine) within a working range 0.7-2.7. eventual Fe3+ outcome acidity imparted by [Fe(H2O)6]3+ ions in solution during formation [Fe(H2O)5(OH)]2+. phenomenon investigated using 1H NMR single crystal X-ray diffraction experiments. protonated probe, H2Qphy+, crystallized...
This work facilitates detection of bivalent copper ion by a simple Schiff base probe QNH based on quinoxaline-naphthaldehyde framework. The detailed study in absorption spectroscopy and theoretical aspects crystal the probe-copper complex has been discussed. limit presence Cu2+ is 0.45 µM HEPES-buffer/acetonitrile (3/7, v/v) medium for study. reversibility investigated EDTA. selective visual established also gel form.
Abstract The combination of Co(III) and Dy(III) with a compartmental Schiff base ligand (H 3 L=3‐[(2‐Hydroxy‐3‐methoxy‐benzylidene)‐amino]‐propane‐1,2‐diol), presenting three different coordinating pockets, has allowed the synthesis two novel Co(III)−Dy(III) complexes: [Co 2 Dy(HL) 4 ]NO ⋅ 2CH CN ( 1 ), rare example trinuclear linear Co III Dy complex (and first slow relaxation magnetization in absence DC field) (μ −OH) (HL) (OAc) 6 ] 4.6H O tetranuclear cluster rhomb‐like structure where...
A quinoxaline–diaminomaleonitrile conjugate is used for detection of Cu(ii) in water and shows the oxidation aldehydes to acids.
