Abstract Control on spatial location and density of defects in two-dimensional materials can be achieved using electron beam irradiation. Conversely, ultralow accelerating voltages ( ⩽ 5 kV) are used to measure surface morphology, with no expected defect creation. We find clear signatures creation monolayer MoS 2 at these voltages. Evolution...

The electronic strong coupling (ESC) of a molecular transition with cavity modes can result in modified excited state photophysics compared to its uncoupled counterparts. Often, such changes are attributed kinetics effects, overlooking the possible modifications ground-state intermolecular interactions. spin-coated films Chlorin e6 trimethyl ester (Ce6T) provide platform for studying role ESC dictating and preorganization Ce6T molecules thin facilitates excitonic interaction, leading an...

Neuromorphic computing has emphasized the need for memristors with non-volatile, multiple conductance levels. This paper demonstrates potential of hexagonal boron nitride (hBN)/graphene heterostructures to act as resistance states that can be optically tuned using visible light. The number levels in graphene controlled by modulating doping levels, achieved varying electric field strength or adjusting duration optical illumination. Our measurements show this photodoping results from...
