We report the observation of singlet fission in aqueous suspensions 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS-Pn) nanoparticles (NPs) synthesized using reprecipitation method. By altering synthesis conditions we are able to fabricate NPs which evolve from a system poorly coupled highly chromophores. This morphological evolution can also be suppressed for period several months. Absorption spectra confirm that particles over time, displaying increased intermolecular interaction, if...

The excited-state dynamics of 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl)pentacene is investigated to determine the role excimer and aggregate formation in singlet fission high-concentration solutions. Photoluminescence spectra were measured by excitation with evanescent wave total internal reflection, order avoid reabsorption effects. over nearly two magnitudes concentration identical, no evidence for emission. Time-correlated single-photon counting measurements confirm that fluorescence lifetime...

Photon upconversion is a process that creates high-energy photons under low photon energy excitation. The effect of molecular geometry on the triplet fusion has been investigated in this work through design and synthesis four new 9,10-diphenylanthracene (DPA) derivatives by employing platinum octaethylporphyrin as sensitizer. These emitter molecules containing multiple DPA subunits linked together via central benzene core exhibit high fluorescence quantum yields. Interestingly, large...

Abstract A series of dicyanopyrazine and dicyanoimidazole derived push‐pull molecules have been prepared further investigated as photoredox catalysts. The fundamental properties the catalysts were studied by DSC, X‐ray analysis, absorption/emission spectra, electrochemistry completed with DFT results. catalytic activity has evaluated in visible light induced α‐functionalization amines (cross‐dehydrogenative coupling annulation reaction tetrahydroisoquinolines). Photochemical upconversion via triplet-triplet annihilation is a promising technology for improving the efficiency of photovoltaic devices. Previous studies have shown that depends largely on two rate constants intrinsic to emitting species. Here, we report one these can be altered by deuteration, leading enhanced efficiency. For perylene, deuteration decreases first order decay constant 16 ± 9% at 298 K, which increases linear response 45 21% in low excitation regime.

The hot carrier solar cell is an advanced concept photovoltaic device that predicted to deliver efficiencies in excess of conventional single bandgap devices. design requires the ability concurrently have extended thermalization times within absorber material, giving a population, and efficiently collect carriers at energy above material. In order achieve this, we require material with long-lived population. We investigate rates InIn <sub xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"...
