Electrospun carbon nanofibers (ECNs) have been explored as an electrocatalyst and low-cost alternative to platinum (Pt) for triiodide reduction in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). The results of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) cyclic voltammetry measurements indicated that the ECN counter electrodes exhibited low charge-transfer resistance (Rct), large capacitance (C), fast reaction rates reduction. Although efficiency (η) ECN-based was slightly lower than Pt-based cells,...

Electrolyte effects on electron transport and recombination at ZnO nanorods (nd-ZnO) were studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Different electrolyte systems prepared gradually adding tert-butylpyridine (TBP) guanidinium thiocyanate (GuSCN) replacing LiI with 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium iodide (BMII). The introduction of TBP GuSCN, the replacement BMII suppressed charge nd-ZnO/electrolyte interface, increased lifetime (τn), improved...

Organosulfides are promising cathodes for lithium batteries but often suffer from sluggish kinetics and low cycle stability. Herein, we report an electron-deficient organosulfide (ED-OS), which is formed via electrochemical oxidation of thiuram monosulfide, a low-cost sustainable material. The ED structure (dimethylcarbamothioyl)thio can stretch the electron cloud adjacent C═S bond forming S radical lead to cleavage S-C on other side another radical. two radicals form S-S bonds individually...

A novel and efficient aerobic asymmetric cyclization reaction of cinnamaldehydes 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds through oxidative NHC-catalysis has been developed, it allows the synthesis a wide range enantiomeric enriched dihydropyranone derivatives in good yields with to excellent enantioselectivities. Various α,β-unsaturated aldehydes aliphatic aromatic substitution groups were well tolerated. The air was directly used as oxidant, which made this highly efficient, cheap, green manner.
