Background: It has been shown that chronic ankle instability (CAI) leads to abnormalities in neuromuscular control of more proximal joints than the ankle. Although strength hip and muscles largely investigated providing concordant results, limited evidence with contrasting results reported regarding knee extensor flexor muscles. Purpose: To investigate maximal submaximal isometric muscle individuals CAI. Study Design: Controlled laboratory study. Methods: Fifteen participants unilateral CAI...

Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) are ideal candidates for regenerative and immunomodulatory therapies. The use of xenogeneic protein-free Good Manufacturing Practice-compliant growth media is a prerequisite clinical MSC isolation expansion. Human platelet lysate (HPL) has been efficiently implemented into manufacturing as substitute fetal bovine serum (FBS). Because the human-derived blood materials alleviates immunologic risks but not transmission blood-borne viruses, aim our study was to...

Chronic quadriceps dysfunction is common after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). We investigated voluntary force control strategies by estimating inputs to motor neurons innervating the vastii muscles. Our results showed attenuated vastus lateralis and plastic rearrangements in functional clusters of modulating knee extension forces reconstructed limb. These findings suggest neuroplastic adjustments following ACLR that may occur fine-tune forces.
