Following the idea of sustainability in food production, a yogurt premix based on beetroot (Beta vulgaris) pomace flour (BPF) was developed. BPF granulated with lactose solution containing lactic acid bacteria (LAB) by fluidized bed. Particle size increased ~30%. A decrease Carr Index from 21.5 to 14.98 and Hausner ratio 1.27 1.18 confirmed improved flowability BPF, whereas water activity implied better storability. Yogurts were produced weekly neat starters (3% w/w) that stored for up one...
The movement of particles in the fluidized bed primarily determines mixing and transfer intensities that occur between fluid. Experimental monitoring velocity marked particle was performed an inversely polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene particles. monitored a two-dimensional column, where water aqueous solution glycerin were used as fluidization medium. Using Tracker Video Analysis program (Tracker Analysis, Open Source Physics, 2003), mean determined, well distance crossed by x y...
The spouted and spout-fluidized bed systems have been designed to overcome the limitations of fluidized systems, particulary where there is a need utilize large particles in process. These beds great significance are applied for various processes industry. They formed by introducing fluid into column with packed bed, establishing vertical transport upwards through center column. entire annular area slides down as transported from bottom bed. Sometimes, central pipe installed axis column,...
: Improving the production rates of modern tablet presses places ever greater demands on performance excipients. Although co-processing has emerged as a promising solution, there is still lack directly compressible excipients for modified-release formulations. The aim present study was to address this issue by investigating potential novel co-processed manufacture tablets containing ibuprofen.
One of the ways to intensify process is use rotating elements, which increase mass transfer coefficients many times over. In this study, coefficient was determined by adsorption and electrochemical methods, using a disk (RD) study effect rotation on intensity. For method, dilute solution methylene blue used, silica gel foils were used as adsorbents. The measurements performed under diffusion-controlled conditions, color intensity surface SIGMA Scan Pro. method in batch systems with volume 20...
Fluidization experiments were performed by using spherical and non-spherical particles to examine the sensitivity of variational model three input parameters: Umf, εmf Ut. Several correlations for Ut tested results compared with experimental values. The model’s ability predict bed expansion (in form U = f(ε)) interphase drag coefficient was investigated varying variables ±20% their showed greatest changes in overestimated values resulted underestimating U(ε), likewise, underestimated...
The present work concerns an experimental study on heat transfer in gas-solid fluidized bed of coarse (Geldart D) particles to a larger immersed sphere at high superficial velocities from 2 5.5 Umf. coefficient was determined by measuring the temperature test during its heating range 65–175 °C. spheres different sizes and materials were utilized. For given gas-particles system flow regime changes rapidly growing bubbles turbulent fluidization velocity Uc ≈ 3Umf. It has been found that...
Hot-melt coating (HMC) is an alternative, solvent-free method generally used to modify substrate release rate and/or mask its unpleasant taste. The aim of this study was assess two HMC methods (pan-coating and mortar-coating) by assaying functional properties the coated material. selected substrates included highly soluble sodium chloride (model substance) caffeine (bitter drug), agent glycerol distearate without/with addition liquid paraffin. Experiments with revealed that pan-coating...
To define the fluid-dynamic properties of inverse fluidized beds, studies minimum fluidization velocity and bed expansion were performed in this work. The experiments an polypropylene polystyrene particles a cylindrical column using water aqueous glycerol solution different concentrations as fluidizing medium. dependence porosity on superficial fluid was determined experimentally for all studied media. influence medium viscosity particle density investigated. Comparison experimental data...
The benefits of drying waste water treatment sludge can be seen in two main aspects: the dried stored and further as an organic fertilizer, or it a source useful (active) microorganisms that reused treatment. Drying suspensions pastes fluidized beds inert material is very attractive alternative to conventional technologies for suspensions, due considerably greater specific capacity expressed per unit volume, less energy consumption air consumption. High efficiency results from large contact...
