Drilling resistance amplitude was used to estimate properties such as density, modulus of elasticity (MOE), and rupture (MOR) in Phyllostachys makinoi bamboo. The purpose this study replace subjective visual estimation with a scientific method, using drilling bamboo maturity, thereby providing basis for selecting high-quality materials. results indicated significant linear correlations between both average maximum amplitudes MOE, MOR. coefficients determination (R²) density ranged 0.55 0.56,...

Abstract Background This study aims to utilize various nondestructive methods assess the internal trunks of 3 Acacia confusa trees affected by Ganoderma australe decay. Methods Visual Tree Assessment (VTA) was employed examine trees, selecting Taiwan acacia ( ) at base which G. fungal fruiting bodies were growing, identified as severely damaged and classified having an immediate hazard level. Subsequently, a stress wave device used detect cross-sectional area these locations where fungus...

This study assessed the health risks of date palms in Taiwan with aerial root growth using visual tree assessment and non-destructive testing. Key external defects included leaning insect damage, while acoustic tomography confirmed internal structural variability but required accuracy improvements. Drilling resistance tests showed that healthy trees had highest near bark, decreasing toward center, decayed exhibited significant amplitude reductions. The phenomenon on outer side trunk is...

This study assessed the health risks of date palms in Taiwan with aerial root growth using visual tree assessment and minimally invasive testing. The phenomenon on outer side trunk is presumed to be a response palm adapt environmental changes, while distinct dark stem tissue band between decayed sound cross-section likely result variation. Key external defects included leaning insect damage, acoustic tomography confirmed internal structural variability but required accuracy improvements....

Abstract Process planning is divided into two major tasks: routeing and operation planning. For a two-phase problem solving structure proposed. In phase I, we focus on selection of process plans for group parts to be machined the next cycle. It formulated solved as dynamic programming problem. II, select sequence operations tools those plans. To this end, 0–1 integer models are solved. A numerical example presented illustrate steps.

This study investigated the application of heat to wood samples from Japanese cedar trees (Cryptomeria japonica) small and medium diameters evaluate effects both temperature duration treatment on its surface, physical, mechanical properties. The results indicate that density, moisture content, hygroscopicity decreased as increased, mass loss increased under same conditions. Additionally, dimensional stability improved in response temperatures prolonged durations. These suggest can be used...
