Artemisia annua is the main natural source of artemisinin production. In A. annua, extended drought stress severely reduces its biomass and production while short-term water-withholding or abscisic acid (ABA) treatment can increase biosynthesis. ABA-responsive transcription factor AabZIP1 JA signaling AaMYC2 have been shown in separate studies to promote by targeting several biosynthesis genes. Here, we found expression multiple genes including AaDBR2 AaALDH1, which does not directly...
This study compared the effects of hot air drying (HAD) and vacuum (VD) on physicochemical qualities lily (Lilium lancifolium Thunb.) bulbs. The results showed that VD treatment effectively reduced browning scales with a total color difference (ΔE) 42–73% lower than those HAD group. Two treatments enhanced phenolic content (TPC) bulbs effectively. TPC increased rising temperatures, under isothermal conditions, group was 1.1–1.6-fold higher Five typical compounds were identified in As...
Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) is an important technique for studying gene expression analysis, but accurate and reliable results depend on the use of a stable reference gene. This study proposes to test stability candidate genes in callus Saussurea laniceps, unique Tibetan medicinal plant. Based S. laniceps transcriptome, eleven genes, including TUA2, TUB3, TUB8, TIF3B1, TIF3H1, ELF5A, PP2AA2, UEV1D, UBL5, UBC36, SKIP1), were validated RT-qPCR normalization under abiotic stress (salt,...
Mirabilis himalaica (Nyctaginaceae) is an endangered medicinal plant mainly distributed in the plateau region of northern Tibet, China. The outer surface M. achenes covered by a pectinaceous mucilaginous layer upon hydration. However, role achene mucilage poorly understood. In this study, we investigated effects on germination and sprout growth under abiotic stress to explain how survive alpine environment. We effect contrast capacity water absorption, dehydration respiration intact with...
Stem cell transplantation is one of most valuable methods in the treatment myocardial infarction, and adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) are becoming a hot topic medical research. Previous studies have shown that ASCs can be differentiated into cardiomyocyte-like cells, but efficiency survival rates low. We investigated role mechanism microRNA-1 (miR-1) differentiation cells. cardiomyocytes were isolated from neonatal rats. constructed lentivirus for overexpressing miR-1 used DAPT, an...
Mirabilis himalaica is an old and popular medicinal plant used in traditional Tibetan folk medicine. Here, we reported the complete chloroplast genome sequence of himalaica. The assembled was 154,348 bp long, containing a large single-copy region 85,809 bp, small 17,935 pair inverted repeat regions 25,302 bp. It had 36% GC content encoded 131 genes including 86 protein-coding genes, eight rRNA 37 tRNA. Fifteen two contained one introns, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that...
Atropa belladonna is a medicinal plant and an important source for the commercial production of tropane alkaloids (TAs), such as scopolamine hyoscyamine, which are used clinically their anticholinergic properties. In this study, we identified 16 metallocarboxypeptidase inhibitor (MCPI) genes from A. (AbMCPIs), grouped into three subgroups based on phylogenetic relationships distributed across 10 chromosomes. Promoter analysis showed that most cis-regulatory elements were related to defense...
Himalaflavones F (1) and G (2), two new flavonoids, along with eight known ones (3-10)were isolated from the roots of Oxybaphus himalaicus Edgew. The chemical structures these compounds were elucidated by 1D/2D NMR, UV HR-ESI-ME data. Meanwhile, anti-inflammatory activities all isolates test using Griess method. Among them 10 μM 1, 2, 8 could decrease NO release against LPS-induced RAW264.7 macrophages. results suggested that have potential to be developed as drugs.
The complete mitochondrial genome of the important medicinal plant Mirabilis himalaica has been reported in this study. It was 346,363 bp size with a GC content 44.6% and contained 42 protein-coding genes (30 known functional genes, 11 ORF one ycf2 gene unknown function), 27 tRNA four rRNA genes. Most were single-copy only three duplicated two multi-copy. Phylogenetic analysis showed M. to be closely clustered Silene latifolia, Spinacia oleracea Beta vulgaris, all species belong order Caryophyllales.
Transgenic Atropa belladonna with high levels of scopolamine was developed by metabolic engineering. A functional gene involved in the rate limiting enzyme h6h biosynthetic pathway over expressed A. via Agrobacterium-mediation. The transgenic plants were culturing till fruiting through micropropogating and acclimating. integration genes into genomic DNA confirmed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) analysis. Analysis difference plant height, crown width, stem diameter, leaf length, branch number...
Abstract Objectives Mirabilis jalapa L. and Bougainvillea spectabilis are two species known for their ornamental pharmaceutical values. The organelle genomes highly conserved with a rapid evolution rate making them suitable evolutionary studies. Therefore, mitochondrial chloroplast of B. M. were sequenced to understand relationship other angiosperms. Data description Here, we report the complete (343,746 bp 267,334 bp, respectively) (154,520 bp) (154,532 obtained from Illumina NovaSeq....
To study photosynthetic characteristics and its influencing factors in leaves of medicinal plant Mirabilis himalaica, provide an evidence for guiding artificial planting improving the quantity. The light-response diurnal photosynthesis course at booting stages 1-3 year old M. himalaica were measured with LI-6400 system. Results showed that light response curves fitted well by non rectangle hyperbola equation (R2 > or = 0.98). values maximum rate (Pmax) use efficiency three-year higher than...
