Summary Artemisinin, a sesquiterpene lactone isolated from Artemisia annua , is in huge market demand due to its efficient antimalarial action, especially after the COVID‐19 pandemic. Many researchers have elucidated that phytohormones jasmonic acid (JA) and abscisic (ABA) positively regulate artemisinin biosynthesis via types of transcription factors (TFs). However, crosstalk between JA ABA regulating remains unclear. Here, we identified novel ABA‐ JA‐induced bHLH TF, AabHLH113, which...
The flowers of Callistephus chinensis (L.) Nees, the only species in genus within family Asteraceae, exhibit various pharmacological activities. From ethanol extract, two compounds were identified: a known compound named callistephus A and new derivative, G. Their structures elucidated through 1D-NMR, 2D-NMR mass spectrometry. In addition, we also evaluated anti-hepatic fibrosis activity G, showing that G can markedly suppress growth LX-2 cells induced by TGF-β1 at concentrations 1-6 μM....
Artemisia annua is the main natural source of artemisinin production. In A. annua, extended drought stress severely reduces its biomass and production while short-term water-withholding or abscisic acid (ABA) treatment can increase biosynthesis. ABA-responsive transcription factor AabZIP1 JA signaling AaMYC2 have been shown in separate studies to promote by targeting several biosynthesis genes. Here, we found expression multiple genes including AaDBR2 AaALDH1, which does not directly...
Artemisinin, the well-known natural product for treating malaria, is biosynthesised and stored in glandular-secreting trichomes (GSTs) of Artemisia annua. While numerous efforts have clarified artemisinin metabolism regulation, molecular association between biosynthesis GST development remains elusive. Here, we identified AaMYC3, a bHLH transcription factor A. annua, induced by jasmonic acid (JA), which simultaneously regulates density biosynthesis. Overexpressing AaMYC3 led to substantial...
The bHLH transcription factors play important roles in the regulation of plant growth, development, and secondary metabolism. β-Caryophyllene, epi -cedrol, β-farnesene, three kinds sesquiterpenes mainly found plants, are widely used as spice food industry biological pesticides agricultural production. Furthermore, they also have a significant value pharmaceutical industry. However, there is currently lack knowledge on function family TFs β-caryophyllene, β-farnesene biosynthesis. Here, we...
The glymphatic system has recently been shown to clear brain extracellular solutes and can be extensively impaired after traumatic injury (TBI). Despite hypothermia being identified as a protective method for the injured via minimizing formation of edema in animal study, little is known about how affects following TBI. We use dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) cisterna magna infusion with low molecular weight contrast agent track transport male Sprague–Dawley rats TBI treatment...
