The proton conductivity of Nafion 117 was measured under various conditions humidity and temperature using a four‐electrode ac impedance method. this membrane without heat‐treatment ca. at ambient 100% relative humidity; it varied strongly with the membrane. After heat‐treatment, showed slight dependence on temperature. From 21 to 45°C, its given decreased increasing temperature, while from 45 80°C increased
Because structural change in lithium cobalt oxide cathode is primarily responsible for the performance degradation of lithium-ion cells simulated satellite operation, it important to investigate operating-condition effect on cell-volume change. In this work, we used situ strain-gauge measurement probe total volume during charging and discharging five 50 Ah-class with graphite anodes cathodes. Some interesting phenomena concerning correlation taper voltage strain at end charge were found...
In this study, we evaluated the calendar deterioration behavior of nickel-based lithium-ion secondary batteries by storing them at 80 °C for different durations. The results indicate that battery capacity decreased with increasing number storage days in a high-temperature environment. From differential curves, found change overvoltage, which was caused electrode reaction, appeared approximately 4.2 V most significant. To analyze phenomenon, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy deteriorated...
A prototype lithium-ion battery with a bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (FSI)-based ionic liquid electrolyte was developed. The mounted on demonstration module of the "Hodoyoshi-3" microsatellite, which successfully launched June 20, 2014. Qualification tests for space application, including radiation tolerance and vacuum tests, revealed negligible degradation liquid-based (IL-LIB) cell. According to flight data, IL-LIB cell can exist stably in an ultra-high environment despite its thin flexible...
In this work, we introduce a water electrolysis and CO2 hydrogenation tandem system which focuses on methane generation. The concept consists of electrolyzer thermally coupled to reactor, where the power required generate hydrogen comes from renewable energy. A thermodynamic analysis was carried out. Our exposes that it is possible increase exergy efficiency by thermal coupling, energy split into H2 O2 during process compensated heat generated reaction. Here, conditions at high can be...
Since battery performance is the main factor affecting on-orbit satellite operation, it very important to understand degradation mechanism of and operating conditions. In particular, a lithium (Li) ion cell used as power source may be subjected high charge discharge rates, volume change during charge-discharge cycle might cause mechanical electrode. this work, we two in situ methods, load measurement X-ray observation, investigate commercial Li-ion polymer with charging discharging An excess...
This paper presents a new method for meter placement in power system state estimation. It plays an important role transmission security control. focuses on to enhance topological observability that discusses the relationship between and network configurations. Mathematically, problem results complicated combinatorial optimization. That implies it is hard solve larger systems. To overcome problem, this tabu search-based efficiently. As meta-heuristic approach, search quite effective solving...
In-orbit satellite REIMEI, developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, has been relying on off-the-shelf Li-ion batteries since its launch in 2005. The performance and durability of is impacted various degradation mechanisms, one which growth solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI). In this article, we analyse REIMEI battery parameterize a full-cell model with electrochemical cycling data, computer tomography images, capacity fading experiments using image processing surrogate...
