We collected data from 10 EU/EEA countries on 240 COVID-19 outbreaks occurring July-October 2021 in long-term care facilities with high vaccination coverage. Among 17,268 residents, 3,832 (22.2%) cases were reported. Median attack rate was 18.9% (country range: 2.8-52.4%), 17.4% of hospitalised, 10.2% died. In fully vaccinated adjusted relative risk for increased outbreak rate. Findings highlight the importance early detection and rapid containment through effective infection prevention...
Abstract Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) causes high morbidity and mortality in long-term care facilities (LTCFs). COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness against infection was 81.5% 81.4% among fully vaccinated residents staff LTCFs. The COVID-19-associated death 93.1% residents, no hospitalizations occurred staff.
With the growing prevalence of antimicrobial resistance, there may be a need to strengthen infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in cancer care. When developing clinical guidelines, it is important incorporate patient perspectives.
Abstract Aim To explore barriers and facilitators that influence adherence to evidence‐based guidelines for peripheral intravenous catheter care in different hospital wards. Design Sequential explanatory mixedmethod study design, with qualitative data used elaborate on quantitative findings. Method Data were collected between March 2021 2022 using the previously validated Peripheral Intravenous Catheter mini questionnaire ( PIVC‐miniQ ) each ward a tertiary Norway. Survey completion was...
Abstract COVID-19 has caused high morbidity and mortality in long-term care facilities (LTCFs) worldwide. We estimated vaccine effectiveness (VE) among residents health workers (HCWs) LTCFs using Cox regressions. The VE against SARS-CoV-2 infection was 81.5 (95%CI: 75.3 – 86.1 82.7%) 81.4% 74.5-86.4%) ≥ 7 days after 2 nd dose staff respectively. associated death 93.1% residents, no hospitalisations occurred HCW ≥7 dose.
