Abstract Biodiesel is conventionally produced by alkaline‐catalyzed transesterification, which requires high‐purity oils. However, low‐quality oils can be used as feedstocks for the production of biodiesel enzyme‐catalyzed reactions. The use enzymes has several advantages, such absence saponification side reactions, glycerol co‐product, and low‐cost downstream processing. In this work, was from lipase‐catalyzed hydrolysis waste cooking oil (WCO) followed esterification hydrolyzed WCO (HWCO)....

Crosslinked enzyme aggregates (CLEAs) of a thermostable cyclodextrin glucosyltransferase (CGTase) from Thermoanaerobacter sp. have been prepared for the production cyclodextrins (CDs). Different parameters in precipitation (nature and concentration precipitant) crosslinking steps (time reaction with cross-linker, nature crosslinker) were evaluated on CLEAs CGTase. Among seven studied precipitants, acetone 75% (v/v) produced CGTase higher activity, which retained 97% initial activity....

Barley β-amylase was immobilized using different techniques. The highest global yield obtained the cross-linked enzyme aggregates (CLEA) technique, employing bovine serum albumin (BSA) or soy protein isolate (SPI) as feeder proteins to reduce diffusion problems. CLEAs produced BSA SPI showed 82.7 ± 5.8 and 53.3 2.4% yield, respectively, a stabilization effect observed upon immobilization at neutral pH value, e.g., after 12 h 55 °C, free is fully inactivated, while retained 25 15% of activity...

Oil spillage contamination has been one of the most common and challenging problems in marine ecosystems over years due to frequent petroleum exploitation, washing, transportation activities. The use nature-derived surfactants become an attractive approach restore sites affected by oil spillage. Several studies have demonstrated that nutrient addition is efficient strategy enhance biodegradation since microorganisms can hydrocarbons as their carbon energy source, thus favoring increasing...
