Penile cancer is an uncommon disease with minimal level I evidence to guide therapy. The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines advocate a lymph node dissection (LND) or radiotherapy consideration of perioperative chemotherapy for all patients node-positive (LN+) penile without metastasis. To determine temporal trends in use LN+ metastasis and evaluate outcomes between those who did not receive LND, chemotherapy, radiotherapy. The US Database (NCDB) was queried 1123 LN+,...
Small cell carcinoma (SCC) is an aggressive histologic subtype of neuroendocrine tumor and most commonly bronchogenic origin. However, it can present in extrapulmonary fashion. Primary small (EPSCC) a rare disease entity, especially within the genitourinary system furthermore adrenal gland. There are scarce case reports that describe management primary SCC. We localized SCC diagnosed on mass biopsy successfully treated via neoadjuvant chemotherapy extirpative surgery.
Multimodal immunosuppression is the backbone of modern solid organ transplantation. However, itself an independent risk factor for post-transplant malignancy. Although skin malignancy most common malignancy, genitourinary cancers are also described. Dose reduction or cessation has a beneficial role in management transplant patients with concomitant but only limited data exist respect to bladder cancer (BCa). We describe patient who developed metastatic muscle invasive (MIBC) after diseased...
To determine whether a simple point-of-care measurement system estimating renal parenchymal volume using tools ubiquitously available could be used to replace nuclear medicine scintigraphy (NMRS) in current clinical practice predict estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) after nephrectomy by preoperative split function.
Paragangliomas are rare neuroendocrine tumors that can vary in size and metabolic activity. We report a case of giant bilateral malignant retroperitoneal paragangliomas (PGL) patient with germline succinate dehydrogenase B (SDHB) mutation. This patient, who presented an emaciated debilitated state, was managed adrenergic blockade followed by radical primary surgery. After being metabolically radiographically disease free for 4 years, he underwent salvage resection recurrent palliative...
