Introducing stereochemically active lone-pair Sb3+ cations into sulfates, two three-dimensional (3D) antimony-sulfates, Sb4O5SO4 (1) and Sb4O(SO4)(OH)2 (2), were achieved under moderate hydrothermal conditions. Both structures are constructed by tetranuclear-{Sb4}-clusters-based layers SO4 tetrahedra. However, owing to the different packing patterns of layers, they display characteristics: 1 exhibits a centrosymmetric structure while 2 possesses noncentrosymmetric structure. UV–vis spectra...

Three zeolitic pentaborates (H2en)[B5O8(OH)] (1, en = ethylenediamine), (Hen)2[Al(B5O10)] (2), (H2en)[NH(CH3)2][Al(B5O10)] (3) were solvothermally obtained by employing ethanediamine molecules as structure-directing agents (SDAs). The nonmetal borate of 1 features a noncentrosymmetric two-dimensional layered structure. Through introducing Al atoms the linkers and regulating reaction conditions 1, two three-dimensional open-framework aluminoborates, (NCS) 2 centrosymmetric (CS) 3, achieved....

Abstract Luminescent metal clusters have attracted great interest in current research; however, the design synthesis of Al with color‐tunable luminescence remains challenging. Herein, an [Al 8 (OH) (NA) 16 ] ( , HNA = nicotinic acid) molecular cluster dual properties fluorescence and room‐temperature phosphorescence (RTP) is synthesized by choosing ligand as phosphor. Its prompt photoluminescence (PL) spectrum exhibits approximately white light emission at room temperature. Considering that...

A new alkali-metal antimony(III) sulfate, NaSb3O2(SO4)3·H2O, has been discovered by introducing stereochemical active lone pair (SCALP) Sb3+ cations into sulfates. It exhibits a three-dimensional structure established from unique {Sb6} clusters and SO4 tetrahedra with Na+ ions located on the voids. diffuse reflection spectrum shows that NaSb3O2(SO4)3·H2O possesses an experimental band gap of 3.80 eV. Theoretical calculation was executed to explain structure–property relationships. The result...
