Chissanoside from <italic>Acanthopanax</italic> species exhibits anti-tumor activity by protecting liver function, regulating immunity, promoting apoptosis and inhibiting angiogenesis.
The present study explored the antidepressant-like activity of α-mangostin (α-MG) and possible mechanism in this process tail suspension test (TST) mice. results revealed that α-MG (5 mg/kg, i.p.) exhibited markedly activity, which could be reversed by pretreatment with haloperidol (a non-selective D2 receptor antagonist), bicuculline competitive GABA p-chlorophenylalanine (an inhibitor 5-HT synthesis).
