Somatostatin receptor (SSTR) expression in metastatic lung neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) has not been well characterized using PET imaging. Understanding the degree and uniformity of SSTR is important to establish role SSTR-targeted treatments NETs. <b>Methods:</b> A retrospective institutional review patients with NETs who underwent DOTATATE imaging from March 2017 February 2023 was performed. <b>Results:</b> In total, 48 68Ga- or 64Cu-DOTATATE were identified. Four had...
We present a case of 74-year-old man with history known 4.3-cm abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and recent sigmoid colectomy for colon cancer who presented Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia, renal failure, low-grade fever. The likely source his bacteremia was an infected AAA, seeded hematogenously at the time surgery. This diagnosis confirmed by several different imaging modalities to include computerized tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MRI), indium-111 labeled white blood cell...
A 27-year-old white man was diagnosed with a testicular, metastatic germ cell tumor. The patient evaluated F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography and coregistered computed (FDG PET/CT) as well contrast-enhanced CT (CECT) of the abdomen pelvis. Serologic tests were performed. At laparoscopic appendectomy, findings consistent acute suppurative appendicitis. This case exemplifies relevance incidental detected on FDG PET/CT.
Purpose: To retrospectively analyze whether adding a delayed high-resolution dedicated neck F-18 FDG positron emission tomography-computerized tomographic (PET-CT) imaging protocol in patients with recurrent differentiated thyroid cancer increases the number of abnormal foci within neck. Materials and Methods: Seventeen PET-CT studies from total 10 suspected between March 2003 June 2004 were reviewed. Each study included whole body acquisition (WBA), followed by higher resolution (DNA). Two...
Neuroendocrine tumor (NET) cardiac metastases can be associated with complications including ventricular outflow obstruction, arrhythmias, heart failure, and arrest, warranting intervention. Anatomical characterization of these lesions via magnetic resonance (CMR) is helpful to assess predict the risk guide therapy. Images 2 patients small bowel NET related are described on Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT CMR. The were significantly smaller more obscure CMR compared PET/CT. On CMR, T2-weighted dark blood...
Vital blue dyes and radiolabeled colloids are widely used globally for intraoperative lymphatic mapping sentinel lymph node biopsy. Until very recently, however, no agents were specifically approved lymphoscintigraphy none have been tested in prospective clinical trials. 99mTc-tilmanocept was designed use biopsy, has evaluated Phase II III In nonrandomized, comparisons with vital dye, reproducibly localized regional nodes after injection at the site of primary breast carcinomas melanomas...
Abstract Background and aims The role of three-dimensional positron emission tomography/computed tomography (3 D PET/CT) in esophageal tumors that move with respiration have potential for significant mucosal inflammation is unclear. aim this study was to determine the correlation between gross tumor volumes derived from 3 PET/CT endoscopically placed fiducial markers. Methods This a retrospective, IRB approved analysis 40 patients cancer fiducials implanted PET/CT. centroid each identified...
Hypermetabolism of thyroid nodules on (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (PET) is associated with a higher prevalence malignancy. However, the definition hypermetabolism and its impact cytological interpretation are unclear.Medical records all patients who had undergone evaluation at Moffitt Cancer Center between October 2008 May 2014 were retrospectively reviewed. Those PET scan performed within one year cytology composed study group, rest used as controls. The...
Technetium-99m-labeled Tilmanocept, a multivalent mannose, is readily internalized by the CD206 surface receptor on macrophages and dendritic cells which are abundantly present in lymph nodes. We want to examine drainage patterns of Tilmanocept sentinel nodes (SLNs) melanoma patients following 10% rule.Multi-center retrospective review with cutaneous undergoing SLN biopsy using between 2008 2014 was conducted. Statistical methods were used for data analyses.Of 564 (mean age 60.3 62% male)...

Bone is the one of most common distant metastatic sites in breast cancer. Routine initial cancer staging evaluation typically includes computed tomography (CT) and skeletal scintigraphy while 18F fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography-computed (PET-CT) reserved for clinically high-risk cases. Since FDG PET-CT not routinely performed during or surveillance evaluations, it important radiologists clinicians to appreciate limitations bone metastasis detection on CT scintigraphy....
70 Background: Often in esophageal targets that move with respiration, endoscopically implanted fiducial markers are placed under ultrasound guidance within 1 cm from the superior and inferior tumor border. Our group has previously reported stability of this method. 3D 18F-FDG PET/CT is obtained for initial staging cancer altered volume many sites. The correlation these two methods GTV delineation currently undefined. Methods: Twenty-one patients were selected retrospective, IRB-approved...
