Abstract Considering the current poor seismic performance of pillar equipment in substations, for transformers, ANSYS software is used to establish corresponding finite element model, and analysis model without with shock-absorbing device carried out under effect earthquake through time course method. The results show that overall transformer significantly improved by installing vibration damping device, after evaluation safety factor method, does not meet requirements code but installed dose.
