Abstract Using the flexibility and diversity of material structure designs possible with 3D printing fiber technology, an all‐solid photonic crystal (PCF) is fabricated using borate (B 2 O 3 ) doping. The geometry, material, optical properties this printed PCF are characterized analyzed microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), index profilometry, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) microscopy. Analysis demonstrates that B doped in has experienced evaporation leading to mass loss during...

We proposed and studied an all-optical modulator based on graphene-microfiber (GMF), prepared GMF by transferring graphene to the surface of tapered region microfiber. The modulation characteristics ultrafast under different light source combinations were studied, was completed. experimental results show that can achieve modulation, broadband pump modulate single-pulse signal light. When is a 1550 nm ASE source, 852 nm, maximum depth 3.92 dB. A 980 laser, 2.966 in this paper has...

A seven-core fiber (SCF) dual parametric sensor based on a taper-biconcave structure is proposed. The end faces of SCF and single-mode (SMF) are discharged to form spherical structure, the structures two fibers fused concave regions. tapered using flame melting method excite interference between fundamental higher-order modes. When external environment changed, effective refractive indices each core mode cladding changed different degrees, which causes changes in spectrum sensor....

A multi-parameter sensor based on dumbbell-shaped double-cladding fiber (DCF) structure cascaded long period grating (LPFG) is proposed and fabricated. It formed by discharging between single mode (SMF) DCF to form a waist-enlarged taper then cascading two LPFGs. When the affected thermal expansion effect, thermo-optic effect elasto-optic resonant peaks inter-mode interference will shift, shifts generated different are also different. By demodulating wavelength shift of three peaks,...

A temperature insensitive vector curvature sensor of photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is presented based on core-offset splicing and waist-enlarged taper. Obvious red blue shifts in transmission spectrum appear at two symmetrical bending directions with length 10, 13, 16, 19 mm 0.12-1.06 m -1 . To extract the features of Brillouin scattering spectrum in distributed sensing systems, an improved Levenberg–Marquardt (L-M) algorithm based on finite element analysis (FEA-LM algorithm) is proposed. The simulation data different linewidth and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are analyzed by using FEA-LM center frequency shifts extracted. operational precision L-M algorithms compared a certain range initial value. result shows that can be appropriate for extracting feature with SNR. Moreover,...

A refractive index (RI) insensitive temperature sensor based on specialty triple-clad fiber (STCF) is proposed. Based coupling mode theory, the STCF can be equivalent to a rod waveguide and two tube waveguides. Then cladding resonance characteristic of analyzed by calculating different dispersion curves, which indicates that it works only from core fluorine-doped silica cladding, finally wavelength obtained. Two straightforward experiments are performed prove its sensing properties....
