The S1 genome segment of avian reovirus strain S1133 was cloned and completely sequenced. sequence comprised 1636 bp with three distinct open reading frames (ORFs), suggesting the gene polycistronic in nature. ORFs from 5′ to 3′ were predicted encode polypeptides 9.8, 3.8 34.9 kDa, respectively. Of ORFs, only third possessed AUG initiation codon an optimum context for translation. ORF-encoded protein, 326 amino acids length, expressed Escherichia coli used as antigen immunoblots. protein...

To evaluate the prevalence of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) type 4/91 in Iran, tracheal swabs from 77 broiler flocks 16 provinces were collected at slaughterhouse. Swabs subjected to RNA extraction and tested by RT-PCR, followed a type-specific nested PCR. The viral was detected 33 samples (42.8%) different provinces. results indicate relatively high IBV Iran necessitate revising vaccination programme against this disease.

A simple colorimetric assay is presented for detecting bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV)-RNA based on aggregation of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in the presence charge-neutral peptide nucleic acids (PNA). Free PNA oligomers tended to be adsorbed onto AuNPs and act as a coagulant, whereas hybridizing complementary RNA with disrupted PNA-induced AuNP aggregation, NPs remained stable. However, non-complementary did not have this effect, induced that resulted color change reaction from red blue....

It has been suggested that avian reovirus σ3 protein is analogous to σ1 trimer, the mammalian attachment protein. We have investigated multimeric nature and cell binding ability of The data presented here demonstrate a multimer in its undisrupted form as determined by SDS-PAGE non-dissociating conditions. However, virion-associated COS-7 cell-expressed behaved differently SDS-PAGE, suggesting need for virus-associated factor(s) control multimerization also show Escherichia coli expressed...

Abstract Background Widely regarded as one of the chief causes diseases in cattle population, bovine herpesvirus‐1 (BoHV‐1) has potential to infect sheep and goat, making them reservoirs or hosts for this virus. Thus, preventive measures against BoHV‐1 should not overlook ability virus other animals. Aims Therefore, focal point study was ascertain seroprevalence 300 healthy goats, relationship between host environmental determinants infection, contributing role goats epidemiology BoHV‐1....

Summary Monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) were produced against a vaccinal S1133 strain of avian reovirus. Characterization six MAbs in Western blotting, radioimmunopre‐cipitation and gold immunoelectron microscopy revealed that the specific to outer capsid proteins, μ2/μ2c, σ2 σ3. Two three MAbs, directed protein, neutralized virus infectivity broadly manner, whereas third had no neutralizing activity. The only MAb which reacted with σ3 protein showed type‐specific recognizing μ2/μ2c proteins...

Fifty rotavirus-positive feacal samples, selected from 500 ELISA tested diarrheic specimens were used in this study. Viral RNA was extracted each sample and reveres transcribed to cDNA. The cDNA then amplified by oligonucleotide primers specific for segment 9, coding VP7. After the first amplification, PCR products subjected a multiplex semi-nested investigate presence of bovine rotavirus serotypes: G6, G8 G10. results indicated prevalence 48 26% G6 G10 serotypes, respectively.
