The Telescope Array (TA) experiment, located in the western desert of Utah,USA, is designed for observation extensive air showers from extremely high energy cosmic rays. experiment has a surface detector array surrounded by three fluorescence detectors to enable simultaneous detection shower particles at ground level and photons along track. TA started full hybrid March, 2008. In this article we describe design technical features detector.

The Telescope Array observatory utilizes fluorescence detectors and surface to observe air showers produced by ultra high energy cosmic rays in the Earth's atmosphere. Cosmic ray events observed this way are termed hybrid data. depth of shower maximum is related mass primary particle that generates shower. This paper reports on maxima data collected over 8.5 years using Black Rock Mesa Long Ridge conjunction with array detectors. We compare means standard deviations $X_{\mathrm{max}}$...

We present the global distribution of fine structure infrared line emission in Cassiopeia A supernova remnant using data from Spitzer Space Telescope's Infrared Spectrograph. identify ejecta materials interior, prior to their encounter with reverse shock, as well post-shock bright ring. The electron density increases by >~100 at shock ~10^4 cm^-3, providing evidence for strong radiative cooling. There is also a dramatic change ionization state fading low interior species like [SiII], giving...

In this work we are reporting on the measurement of proton-air inelastic cross section $\sigma^{\rm inel}_{\rm p-air}$ using Telescope Array (TA) detector. Based proton-proton $\sigma_{\rm p-p}$ value is also determined at $\sqrt{s} = 95_{-8}^{+5}$ TeV. Detecting cosmic ray events ultra high energies with enables us to study fundamental parameter that otherwise unable access particle accelerators. The data used in report hybrid observed by Middle Drum fluorescence detector together surface...

We experimentally study the dispersion of localized acoustic surface waves (ASWs) supported by an array coupled membrane-capped cavities. design, simulate, and characterize a metasurface with unit cell comprising simple cylindrical air-filled cavity resonator topped tensioned membrane. show that tuning resonance constituent membrane or cavity, behavior system can reduce frequency lowest mode half compared to cavities without membranes. Experimentally obtained ASWs sample are numerical...

Air-fluorescence detectors such as the High Resolution Fly's Eye (HiRes) detector are very sensitive to upward-going, Earth-skimming ultrahigh energy electron-neutrino-induced showers. This is due relatively large interaction cross sections of these high-energy neutrinos and Landau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal (LPM) effect. The LPM effect causes a significant decrease in for bremsstrahlung pair production, allowing charged-current showers occurring deep Earth's crust be detectable they exit Earth into...

We present Gemini near-infrared integral field spectrograph (NIFS) K-band observations of the central 400 pc NGC 1266, a nearby (D$\approx$30 Mpc) post-starburst galaxy with powerful multi-phase outflow and shocked ISM. detect 7 H$_2$ ro-vibrational emission lines excited thermally to $T$$\sim$2000 K, weak Br$\gamma$ emission, consistent fast C-shock. With these bright lines, we observe spatial structure shock an unambiguous tracer for first time. The is concentrated in $\lesssim$100 pc,...
