The Cajal body (CB) is a nuclear structure closely associated with import and biogenesis of small ribonucleoprotein particles (snRNPs). Here, we tested whether CBs also contain mature snRNPs CB integrity depends on the ongoing snRNP splicing cycle. Sm proteins tagged photoactivatable color-maturing variants fluorescent were used to monitor behavior in living cells over time; accumulated CBs, traveled from one another, they not preferentially replaced by newly imported snRNPs. To test cycle,...

The U4/U6·U5 tri-small nuclear ribonucleoprotein particle (tri-snRNP) is an essential pre-mRNA splicing factor, which assembled in a stepwise manner before each round of splicing. It was previously shown that the tri-snRNP formed Cajal bodies (CBs), but little known about dynamics this process. Here we created mathematical model assembly CBs and used it to fit kinetics individual snRNPs monitored by fluorescence recovery after photobleaching. A global fitting all kinetic data determined key...

Cajal bodies (CBs) are evolutionarily conserved nuclear structures involved in the metabolism of spliceosomal small ribonucleoprotein particles (snRNPs). CBs not present all cell types, and trigger for their formation is yet known. Here, we depleted cells factors required final steps snRNP assembly assayed presence stalled intermediates CBs. We show that depletion induces normally lack these compartments, suggesting CB nucleation triggered by an imbalance assembly. Accumulation depends on...

Abstract Oxygen consumption and Ca exchangeability at different levels of potassium depolarization were studied in frog sartorius muscle. It was found that the changes oxygen parallel exchangeability. Procaine (10 −3 M) CaCl 2 (2.10−2 suppressed both extra low values depolarization. At higher procaine differed their action. favored inhibition these processes, caused activation. The effects compounds not a result change membrane potential, since effect on to be small. The effect of various chemical modifiers, including nitrates palladium, nickel, magnesium, calcium, lanthanum, europium and aluminium, on the analytical signal selenium in a graphite furnace was studied. signals compounds, such as selenite, selenate organic compounds representing different types forms body fluids (selenomethionine trimethylselenium iodide), were evaluated. shape transient appears to be influenced not only by reactions graphite–selenium–modifier system, but also very strongly...

The lateral electrical conductivity of gold layers with thickness in the nanometre range was found to decrease due adsorption mercury, water, iodine and sulphuric compounds onto surface. A self-assembled monolayer hexadecanethiol, deposited on surface, blocked effects water volatile layers, but does not block mercury. results indicate a selective permeability hexadecanethiol monolayers for mercury vapour, thus providing method development ultrathin filters chemical sensors.

Processing bodies (P-bodies) are dynamic cytoplasmic structures involved in mRNA degradation, but the mechanism that governs their formation is poorly understood. In this paper, we address a role of Like-Sm (LSm) proteins P-bodies and provide evidence depletion nuclear LSm8 increases number P-bodies, while overexpression leads to P-body loss. We show knockdown causes relocalization LSm4 LSm6 cytoplasm suggest controls accumulation all LSm2–7 proteins. propose model which redistribution...
